Because the politicians (who are quite literally responsible for this foul mess, because of their policies since the last war) have to be seen to be 'doing something' otherwise they'll be pilloried by the media.
In reality, they can do nothing in the short term and past precedent suggests all they will do is make the future worse. A plague on the lot of them!0 -

I don't think it's quite that bad out here plus setting up 'chain gangs' would be very hard to organise on a practical level. Seriously, it would be almost impossible to set up.

They just had someone on the news who owned a shop (I think maybe the big one on fire) thats been in his family since 1862 ish poor man could hardly speak0

......it's just not a practical solution this......I don't think the Somalian Govt would want our problem citizens either. Why would they? Bit insulting to them to assume that they would welcome them over.0 -
