giffgaff are not spam but a lot of people who missed out and signed up to expensive competitors like to poo poo them, its just sour grapes.

:rotfl:Long before GiffGaff there were lots of mobile providers offering cheap calls - Its not as if GiffGaff came along and suddenly changed the market - Tesco, Asda, Ikea etc, were offering 8p call rates years/months before 02..Sorry GiffGaff duped people into believing they were the cheapest.

But GiffGaff is better it splits the 10 pounds 5 pounds to new customer and 5 to the referer.

The OP mentioned 02 and that he was a low user so I belive GiffGaff would still be best for him

8p calls 4p Texts plus if he uses referal 10 credit gives him extra 5 pounds this would bring his calls down to 6p for the duration of his 15 pounds credit also GiffGaff sem to give you odd amounts of giveaways ok I only got 0.76p but like tesco says every little helps. Also GiffGaff has extra benefits like free 0800 numbers and free GiffGaff to GiffGaff calls

Icard mobile would be the next best 6p mobile calls 2p Landline calls they use vodaphone network but they only guartee this price to the end of the month.
  • It is true that it is not automatically the cheapest, but as the OP is after one for occassional use, I'd assume it will only be used for the odd text and phone call. There is no network that comes close to the cost of texts and minutes.

I have never posted my referral link, just advise that they could be the cheapest option and are worth a look. Most people have not heard of them so may miss out on a great deal if they dont consider them as an option.

:money:For someone who uses their phone for the internet and sends a lot of texts etc - a busy person!! then they would definately need to compare prices with all companies. I have tried all the mail suppliers for pay as you go mobile - Giffgaff are top of the list for savings as far as I am concerned. Four family members are now on their pay as you go option and calls between us are free - all normal free numbers are actually FREE as well. It costs me very little for calls : 8p a minute and 4p a text.
All I can say to those who put Giffgaff down is stop moaning give it a try - it will most certainly save you money and the help / service is excellent.

Tesco and Talk Mobile have cheaper tariffs then those quoted in your extensive list. Both charge only 8p a minute call 4p text.

The dreaded giffgaff who charge a massive 8p per call and 4p per text, against virgin 26p per call and 10p per text, also give you free calls and texts to other giffgaff mobiles.

For £20 a month you get 800 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet, this is a £20 bundle you chose to buy whenever, not a rolling contract.

But we notice you never did answer my message, of how much 445mins 50 mms and 780txt would cost me on GG?

I notice as passing CPW this afternoon, 8p/4p mins/text advertised across the window, and perhaps you don't have to spam the forums to get onto their deal.
