kenshaz wrote:But at least you have maintained a core NHS ,and for that you have my respect.I am not a fan of targets ,and this government is target obsessed.
But I still believe that the fundamental problem lies with not you who has maintain NHS clients ,but those who has moved totally to the private sector.
You still haven't answered the question as to how all us private dentists coming back to the NHS, as well as all the foreign imports you want, are to be funded, when the money for the tiny bit of NHS we've got left isn't going to last the year, and will be cut next year.
It's only all of us going private that has made the NHS last as long as it has!
Edit - I have only been 100% private since April. I saw kids on the NHS before that. In 1997 I was 100% NHS.
I'd hung on until a labour Government in the hope of some improvement. In 1998, they postponed a report they'd commissioned into a review on NHS dentistry.
That was it for me. It was obvious it was in the words of 'The Who', "Meet the new boss - same as the old boss". I went private for all fee paying adults.
My business has survived and thrived. I do not regret it for an instance.
The next year, at the labour party conference, The Liar formerly known as Tony Blair made the speech from which I quote in my signature.
Ever since then, what was left of NHS dentistry has been ripped apart and shaken up to appease the sort of moron who makes the news every now and again as the've got drunk on a bottle of vodka (That probably cost more than an NHS extraction fee) and taken out some broken down tooth that had never even seen an NHS dentist even when they were plentiful and cheap. How to find a dentist.

Oh dear.
Whatever kind of rational argument you may have for walking out on the NHS is completely undermined by this kind of behaviour.
If you persist with this attitude that people who hold contrary views 'haven't got a clue' you will not gain yourself friends and any you do have who are fair-minded people will find it childish and distasteful.
Why not simply start out by stating your view and saying that anyone who may not share it has to be 'on medication' or 'clueless'?
Then we'll all know where we stand. You didn't want a discussion. You only wanted fawning sycophancy.0 -

You still haven't answered my questions about earnings.
Return to the NHS and the funding would be available,I am sure that the general public would be happy to pay a little more ,because after-all they are presently paying through the nose for private treatment in addition to their NHS contribution.
The only reason that they are private is because they cannot find an NHS dentist .
One additional point ,I seem to be getting an indication from you that NHS dental treatment is sub-standard ,an analogy between a café and a bistro. To be happy you need to make someone happy.0 -

An average dentist will earn about the same as an average small business owner of similar size, investment, and personnel working for him.
I have answered that question.

Make plans now ,get your life in order, prepare.
I have escaped ,I was a bird in a cage ,why would I want to fly back into the cage ,when I can fly free.
Stick it out for the extra time ,do not wish your life away, enjoy now .
I just found this on another THREAD Ken.
Unfortunately I have another 25 years before I'm due to retire, but by going private I have forsaken the one good thing about the NHS - the pension scheme.
I had to escape my cage in other ways.
Maybe we're not so different??How to find a dentist.

Funny how when I posted on another thread the theory that Cordial and CVID were one and the same person, I received 2 PMs from people who had also noticed a similarity in their style of writing, and one of those PMers mentioned that RainbowInTheSpray had a very similar style and popped up on similar threads as well.
Care to comment RITS/CVID/Cordial?How to find a dentist.
