Slapped wrists (for me) for going slightly OT and not sticking to the OP's question
me too
OT:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

This is what you get when you live cheek-by-jowl, those who live in greater london do expect some sort of "blight" that people in other parts of the country ( eg my parents in Cheshire) simply wouldnt accept.
now go to your room with no tea
It would be if this were in London, but it's not, there are several parks and country parkes nearby and it's mostly surrounded by fields - hence the (admittedly harsh) derision.
It's not quite the same as living in Lower Chelsea or St Reatham. This is no more urban living than say Knutsford is to Manchester....

Well, that's you & me on the naughty step then
Still valid points though and not entirely OT

The people being so harsh have all come on a daytrip from another website.
No guessing where. Got bored of being nasty to each other maybe

That was my immediate thought and it would be the reason I'd be put off. If people want a 4bed place, cos they have several kids they also need room for them to sit and eat. I could look past the piano in the hallway, taking up room -but lots of people can't and I'm guessing this is the first impression they get? I can live with other peoples decor, I'm capable of buying a tin of paint:D , laminate is still fashionable in this neck of the woods:p . Never even noticed the artexbarnaby-bear wrote:Lack of dining room/area for a table in the kitchen...
, have to go back for another look, this may put me a little bit off, but not much, not enough to not buy the place if I really, really liked it, but the kitchen, lack of dining space would. 0 -

OP asked for why it's not selling - they got told why we thought it was not selling - just because it's not dressed in softly softly nice language does not mean it's not a reasonable comment.0 -

I guess that depends on what your definition of reasonable is.
It really depresses me that some peoples idea of help causes new posters to run from here and never post again. It's the second time in as many weeks.
If you choose to frequent this forum then of course you have the right to reply; but it's just plain vindictive when people post threads from this site on other websites, with the intention of inviting vitriole.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I can genuinely say that on this thread, I have NO idea what you are talking about. I did not post vitriol - OP asked for advice - he got it - I'd say the same to their face. Get realistic, they wanted to know it's not selling - they got told. Please tell me (where apart from the odd joke about purple putting people off their stroke) there was vindictive abuse. Sometimes people are a bit oversensitive about offending other people's sensibilities and fail to tell the simple truth as a result....Doozergirl wrote:I guess that depends on what your definition of reasonable is.

I get 'oversensitive' when it's clear that a brand new poster has been demoralised so much that they don't post back again. You may have the skin of a crocodile but how can you have no idea what I'm talking about?
God, I'm always critical and sometimes blunt but I don't need to reel of a list of everything I hate about a person's house or where they live. The OP asked for help, not a dressing-down. Using the word 'council' to describe someone's decor, I assume is meant as an insult.
Houses sell every day in different areas, with all types of decor.
The OPs decor isn't even bad. It will be very much to some people's taste :wall: We don't all live with Naomi Cleaver.
EDIT: My comments aren't aimed specifically at you Rachman, more in general about the turn that this thread has taken.
I'm also going to shutup now because I've made my point, and some.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
