Right, so less than mile from the M25 (noise), next to sewage works (smell), industrial estate (traffic), A12 (congestion, smell, pollution and noise) and almost backs on to main railway line and is also priced at nearly 25% more than the next most expensive semi has ever sold for on that road and needs £20K on it to make it right (kitchen bathrooms, decor, lights, switches etc.) and is oddly proportioned - I think we have our answer.....

He may be 'avin a giraffe, but you never know.... someone may want to spend their City bonus on an 'arrse in the cahntree....

Some people do like to put the personal touch on a house. Buying your they can change anything they don't like; I think its fine from a selling point of view.

If I was looking at your house I would be thinking of having the top floor as the master bedroom and bathroom; distancing the adults from the kids on the middle floor, maybe mention this as an option to viewers.

No point spending money following suggestions as I don't think it will increase the value.

How come your neighbours back garden is so much longer than yours; that would put me off.

I think people are getting unkind in their criticism!

    Sorry mum...

But it's location is quite comical :D
"Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.
"I think I'll become an alcoholic," said Betty.

Here is my take on what put me off.
Dont take offence it is just my opinion
    Over-priced.
Needs potted plants to break up the outdoor council car park.
    Red paint needs toning down.
    Piano in the hall.
    Cheap looking laminate flooring.
    Fridge looks terrible.
    Needs new kitchen.
    Artex - Arrrrrghhhh.
Loft room needs re-painting and posters removing.

You must remember buyers cant see past these things.
From this quick look at the house I would go away thinking it needed total redecoration, a new kitchen and landscaped front area.

Would I pay £308,000 for it - No Way.
I would have snapped up the offer 0f £285,000/

Basically I back the ideas here - sorry!

You need to decorate I'm afraid in more neutral colours. Painting the kitchen or replacement doors would be a good move too.

The piano has to go from the hallway and the front needs softening.

    Good luck.

I wouldnt say so for greater london. On my road theres a recylcing centre and a bus depot. On my mates road a few streets away theres a massive cooling tower and a scrap yard. This is what you get when you live cheek-by-jowl, those who live in greater london do expect some sort of "blight" that people in other parts of the country ( eg my parents in Cheshire) simply wouldnt accept.

now go to your room with no tea :D

Are you sure there isnt something the matter with it that you don't notice like the overpowering smell of dog, cat, hamster etc etc. People who own dogs and live with that smell all the time don't notice it but to people who don't it's quite overpowering.
