I havnt yet seen the tape i need to request it, not sure how but il find out.

Wait for your summons, go to court and plead not guilty. Then ask for the tape as part of your disclosure.

The police officer was at the other lights he said his lights had turned green as I went past which means mine must have been on red.

Give us a google link to the junction and tell us which way you were going and where the police were.

Le me see - let us consider if both the OP and the police officer turn up at court, and the OP said that they did not go through a red light and the police officer said that they did.

The chance of the magistrates believing the OP and not the police officer is about the same as you winning the lottery this week.

The only chance the OP would have of wining in court, is if the police officer failed to turn up.

As for the amber traffic lights, "the amber signal shall, when shown alone, convey the same prohibition as the red signal, except that, as respects any vehicle which is so close to the stop line that it cannot safely be stopped without proceeding beyond the stop line, it shall convey the same indication as the green signal". (TSRGD reg 36)

So amber means exactly the same as red, unless the car behind is likely to crash into you if you stop. And if that car is a police car, the chance of you getting a magistrate to believe that the police officer was driving too close and likely to cause an accident if you stopped is about the same as you winning the lottery this week.

This was the best i could find, i was travelling up Simonsway and the police officer was coming down poundswick lane, to turn right behind me.
Im not really familiar with the area so sorry if it dosent make much sense.

Whats the building on the left?

Could he actually see your stop line?
  • I see what you are saying, the building at the side is the police station, im not familiar with the roads, so im not sure if he could see my line, as the car in the pic looks like he is at the line and its set back.
    Does that make a difference?
ALL the officer said was " he saw that he saw me go through the junction and his lights turned to green so I must have gone through on red."

Must have or did cross the stop line against the red light?

From what you say he didn't see you.
