Fixed Penalty Red Lights

Did the officer give you a Fixed Penalty Notice or say you would be reported for a summons ?
I got caught speeding by an officer when I already had 6 points on my licence, I was told he couldnt give me a fixed penalty due to the possibility of a totting up disqualification.
This was 11 years ago though so things may have changed.0 -
Amber means you should be stopping, not putting your foot on the accelerator.elektra-2007 wrote: »I went through a set of lights on amber the other day, then i was pulled by an officer who said the lights were on red. I am convinced the lights were amber.
I think we can all safely say it was red.I am going to take the matter to court as I will lose my job if the 3 points are added to my license.0 -
The other day I went through an amber light and then was stopped by a police officer saying i went through on Red.
I have produced my license at the police station but not surrendered it as I wish to take the matter to court.
My question is this:
if I had gone through a red light and been flashed by camera I would have the option of a driving course where I wouldnt get any points on my license, can i request this course at court?
I will lose my driving job if I recive these 3 points, so this is an important matter to me.
Thank you for any advice you can give.0 -

By going on a course your admitting that the light was red, yet you say it was amber, so why would you do that?
I'd suggest the light may have been amber when you last looked so why did you continue?
Can you say for sure what colour the light was when you crossed the stop line?0 -
If you go to court you're just going to get a bigger fine and/or more points.0

OP, you've already got a post on this subject why are you creating a new one?0

Why are you going to lose your job?
Are you not allowed points to drive?
It's not as if your going to be banned.0
