And this post is not aimed at just one person, but everyone.
All I can say is I have just read the last few pages of this thread and I am disgusted at some of you.
You winge over a lady getting loads of apples. What she was doing with them is her business, keep your nose out and stop moaning. Your only jealous.
You complain there is no chat on this thread, yet you ramble on over a load of rubbish that no one wants to read.
You complain over nothing, one minute you moan there is too much chat, and then not enough.
You complain you don't feel you can post coupons or post on the drivel thread.
Can everyone please stop moaning all the time. You lot are so grumpy.
For the ones that aren't grumpty, hi, have a nice day.

personally I think "applegate" should now be drawn a line under - I was hoping Mad's comment in response would diffuse things. Personally, I think alls fair in money saving in the supermarket. I would probably stalk myself and when her back was turned looking for a glitch posted on here, I would pinch some of the bags la, la, la... so they were in my trolley! now then ENOUGH WITH THE APPLES!
Despite requests not to discuss I think a lot of us who now lurk took Gill's post as an opportunity to finally have a voice on the subject of volume of chat as up until now when the thread split, despite a poll voting otherwise and as a few regulars took their own little clique over to a drivel thread, it was considered done business and the rest of us were left to draw our own conclusions so actually I think it is only fair and right that we are allowed to have our own opinions and whether it is approved of or not. You've all had your says after all.
I can fully appreciate that the thread has evolved to accommodate new names, I can fully appreciate that it is a mammoth task that MT, and IS and PC did before her have taken on and I applaud them for that courage.
To be honest, I don't know what the answers are. Various suggestions have been put forward over time for variations. Its a fact, with the current economic climate more and more of us are turning to MSE for solutions to financial headaches and as, I imagine, a lot of non savvy shoppers probably spent a disproportionate amount of their money in a supermarket it is an obvious port of call to start to save real money hence the recent invasion of new names.
All I am trying to get across is that a lot of us objected to the way the rug was pulled despite there being a hasty poll which resulted in a definitive answer, promptly ignored and a drivel thread which seems only to be a select few and again, despite protestations from its posters, it is cliquey - make no bones about it.
Anyway, just to let you all know that I am still a-wombling. I confess to actually being approached via MSE by Take-a-Break magazine to participate in an article on "thrifty mums". I declined although the fee was enticing. I think my wombling anecdotes had attracted attention and they were keen to explore wombling as a money saving vehicle. As I did not take them up on their offer I would presume other regular wombling posters may have also been approached?
I just can't wait for the next "heatwave" to hit Britain and all those dads/husbands/partners with their summer uniforms of 3/4 length, bit-tight-round-the-belly combats and crocs displaying manky toenails rushing into Asda with their wads of cash still steaming fresh from the ATM to purchase bbq essentials. From experience these are wonderful days for avid womblers. They don't care whether they are buying economically, they don't care about their receipts. I love it! The weather is fine, often with a gentle breeze - flapping all over the car park they are - the receipts that is and not the men. lol.
Yesterday I wombled 9 Asda receipts, total vouchers = £12.67, the best one being £5.74. 3 Tesco, none of which had points added - 60, 42 and 12. I was able to double up a £5 clubcard voucher on petfood and used 4 whiskas printables so an immediate £7.72 off the rest of my shopping. Nice one. Really useful as our mum-puss has just produced four little moggie sproglets (sunday afternoon) and is ravenous. Walls bacon and sausages at great prices in Tesco with the unilever vouchers and another 6 packs of sensations (bogof in sains). Loving it when a plan comes together. Over three shops yesterday, Asda (used mostly APG and 2 x £3 airwick odor detect and the £1 mag coupon, Magnum), Sains (bacardi, sensations, colgate toothbrushes, free "just milk" and free "onken pot" vouchers from recent comps), Tesco - successful double up as above, walls, sharwoods (their tikka masala is currently £1.05 so use two and another £1 off your shopping). Total shops (all 3) £76 and I paid just under £15 in real cash.
ooh, and I also found a Morrisons receipt in Tesco (?) which had not claimed its free disney card packs so thats 3 free packs of cards for DD3. I have yet to pay for any, my only outlay the album; she only needs 3 cards to complete the book and they have all been acquired from wombled receipts redeemed at their desk and swapsies with a neighbour. Happy days.
Wombling has saved me from madness.
I will not post any more about the current unrest, I feel Ive had my say now at long last, but it did need to be said but I did not mean to upset anyone.Love, through the trees, past the sky, beyond the northern lights; and I won't let go. May your soul and spirt fly sweetheart x

Well said CW.:T
MT does a stella job keeping on top of the forum and i can't imagine how all this is making her feel.I for one don't mind the chatter too much and never really get around to going on the drivel thread as i hardly have time to keep up with here. However it does start to get grating when we get situations like applegate.
I'm pretty new here but even I have noticed a bit of a side shift for the worse. Can we not all just chill out share and be comrades in the spirit the forum is meant.Don't we have enough problems with the rising price of everything without bickering amongst ourselves?0 -
In an effort to change the mood.
Can I ask?I have noticed that quite a few of you seem to know each other outside the confines of the forum. Is this because you have been on here so long or did you know each other before and join together?
And with that in mind is there anyone in Edinburgh that fancies being my coupon shopping buddy :rotfl:0
