So stressed...No dress

I hate to point out, but you can't track recorded items.
All recorded does is get a signature at the receivers end which you can view online plus it only covers for £46 compensation also, if the item gets lost or damaged on route.

Special delivery, however, will give out compensation of £500, and the item can be tracked online. This method should be used if sending anything over the value of £46.
Fingers crossed, the dress will be with the OP real soon!
Thats what I thought and why I am surprised it was not sent special delivery in the first place.0 -

Yes I am finding the attitude a little strange.0 -
I can clarify the item was sent (in my terms recorded) but in PO terms track and trace special delivery and is at the current time, 'in the system, received at the specified post office.' The item will be compensated/insured to the value of £500.
I really do not have anything to apologise for. I've done my job to the clients satisfaction and have sent details on request.
I shan't be posting anything further until the client is in receipt of her gown. I know the situation, the client knows the situation. I simply needed to show the other side of the conversation as to my seemingly 'ignoring' a client which I did not do.0 -

If it was sent Special delivery, then it should have been with the OP by now, unless you sent it yesterday or today.
If you sent it Thurs or earlier, you can claim back the price you paid to send it by Special as it hasn't reached the OP by the Special Delivery time frame.
I think the confusion is because you said you'd sent it 'normal recorded'.
If the OP has the tracking number, she can check online herself and maybe ring her local sorting office up to see what's going on?Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
I must admit I find it strange that you won't email or call outside of "office hours" but will happily spend some time creating posts on here about the business. We all do and say things we regret when under severe stress, but the way you're responding to an obviously worried Bride to be is pretty astounding IMO.Pants0

Before this thread turns into a witch hunt, shall we all wait till Emmielou comes back on and provides an update?0

I don't think the dress maker needs to make any apologies on this forum just to satisfy everyone else, she has come on here to put her side the same as the OP.0

It does sound very strange. Why post the dress leaving so little time before the due date? I would have thought most people want their dress 3 months before, not three days.0

If that was the case you'd buy it from a shop early or agree upfront that delivery slot with your dressmaker. And then if you're like loads of us on here you spend most of those next 3 months stressing over whether you'll fit into it by the wedding day :rotfl:I won't get mine til 2 weeks before my day but I know that upfront and that's the case with many bespoke dresses0 -
