A fine example of 'modernising' a fine old building by stripping all the character out of it. I know some people like this sort of thing, but I've never understood why you would buy an 18th century cottage if you're going to make it indistinguishable from any modern house - although, looking at the stairs in this one - http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-38408593.html (picture 7) - I can perhaps see a small reason to change things!

Pic 9 - A room for the multi-tasker.
Not sure I'd want to be sat there taking a dump with the chance of a cat paying me a visit.
Not keen on the combined kitchen/living room either

I can't see anything major wrong with it - Roof looks good, exterior needs painting and revamping - assuming no rot. No sign of damp inside.
Looks to me that apart from cosmetic paint paper and floor coverings, the only major expences would be central heating - £5000, kitchen - £5000, Bathroom, £2500. I reckon you could get it back up to scratch for £15000 max, provided no major rot, damp or structural problems.

I love the bathroom, the suite looks like it's in good nick, and those bath taps are original, on a lovely roll-top free-standing bath. It probably just needs new wallcoverings and flooring.0 -
