If you're knocking through a terrace, you really should budget for turning the staircase to run up the side wall instead of across the 'space'.

I'd say the 'bannister' was illegal under current regs.

Here's another project just up the road from us that I wouldn't have minded getting my hands on - guess the house must be pretty bad inside based on the fact the EA has only supplied one interior piccy and all that land would require deep pockets to keep on top of, but it would make a great holiday let complex or similar! Very interesting looking house though.......

I think if the developer moved the staircase to the side of the room and at 90 degrees, they would get the cost of the job back through able to sell it at a higher price and be able to sell it quicker. People with young children will be put off with that with 'accident waiting to happen' stairs. I would not like to have stairs like that.

Drimpton! :eek: It's like it sounds. I spent the 10 unhappiest months of my life in that village's apology for a school.

We tried to buy a doer-upper property there a few years back, but the local council were so hostile to our enquiries regarding its use, we had second thoughts.

Approach with caution.
