If I were buying it I could cope with the letters in the brickwork, it's the BLACK everywhere that would put me off. Seems to be really common now; black tiles/work surfaces/carpets. Would be costly to replace it all.

It's not initials, it is the house number. It is 51c Lansdowne Road. 51a and 51b are behind it down the alley on its left hand side.

Missing, I think.

I agree with the comments on black tiling. We're currently looking at houses and a good number of them have at least one area of shiny black tiles (whether it's a small WC made look even smaller or a gothic looking kitchen).

I've not either, but it's something that they do on the continent.....

As long as it's been done properly, I can't really see a problem with it, although I can imagine it would be a pig to insure.
