You can only buy this 4 bed house for £301,500 if you are aged 60 or over!

If you are under 60 years old, then cough up £150k extra for the privilege!:eek:

Shame as I like that house a lot but even 300k is well out of my price range, not to mention age range....

I can't imagine loads of over 60's wanting a huge 4 bed house either.... bit strange. The owner themselves says that they are downsizing now that their kids are all grown up after going to school just across the road...
It may be £150k extra, but at least you get to buy the whole house.

All this is doing is touting a part ownership scheme, so the price really is "from". It's a bit like advertising a house as "From £15k" where, in fact, that is the price to buy one bedroom, or the shed at the bottom of the garden: want the living room too? That'll be an extra £45k.

Plus, as far as I know, these "Home for Life" schemes base there charges on a lot of factors, including the age and health of the client. So it is unlikely that a fit 60 year old, married couple would get it for £301k either. Though a single, asthmatic 90 year old smoker might.

Come on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.

Delicate, subdued decoration. Then you get to picture 8. Only the pic on the screen suggests it's the same house...

Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?

The whole house is stunning. I just can't believe that pic 8 is in the same house... Though how much would any of us given to have one of those (pic 11) in our garden when we were kids?

OK, from the sublime to the ridiculous. This is student housing with 13 double bedrooms. You could get 26 people living there, part or full time with gfs and bfs staying over. How the heck do 26 people cook dinner/store food/wash up in that kitchen?

Funny how they don't seem keen to show any photos of the "big or massive" rooms.

I suppose they are not intended to have two people in each room, the "double" is meant to indicate the size. Presumably "£77 per person per week" would be doubled if anyone did want to share with a second person.

£1,001 a week if they are all let. Nice little earner if it's owned outright.

£35k for a whole pub - around here you'd barely get half a studio flat for that - and I don't live in the nicest area of Manchester by any means!
