A bit of work needed here, but it has sold! https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-62198856.html
That has to be a city dweller’s dream holiday home. I wonder how long before the dream turns into a nightmare?0 -

Never seen a property where the window hangs out at the angle like that - pic 6 shows it at the best
I think that might refer to when it was Grade II listed?0 -

Peartree Cottage was indeed listed in November 1988 - https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101252725-peartree-cottage-ingleton

Being listed and in a conservation area, the costs of restoration are going to be high. It will probably end up as a second home or holiday let.Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
Presumably, if it were allowed, it could be cheaper to clear the site and start again? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

" Slobbered rubble brought to course, stone dressings, stone slate roof."
I mean who'd want rubble after it had been slobbered over, even on Freecycle? Eugh!:eek:0 -
That is, indeed, what I had in mind when I wrote "if it were allowed".No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

This is why the authorities need to be less trigger happy in designating seemingly anything and everything nowadays as listed. Other than being old, what significance / value / merit does this place bring?! A perfect example of something that would be far better being demolished and rebuilt, but will probably remain a stagnant wreck because of the costs involved in refurbishing in line with restrictions making it unviable for majority of developers.0 -
Wow. Ultimate 'project' house...:eek:0

Is living this close to a major stadium a plus or a negative? https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-81822965.html
I'm a sports fan, but without having an actual view of the field and just getting the noise i'd probably hate it.
More homes on the doorstep of stadiums or built on former grounds like Highbury Square here: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/news/articles/dream-properties/the-homes-inside-next-door-and-above-football-stadiums/0
