The bottom fell out of the executive house market in that location in 2008. I don't imagine there are enough executives in the area, or that those who exist want to live among the self-builds.

The agent shows their inexperience by speaking of 'renovation,' when all it needs is finishing. No sign of incompetence in the work done. I have seen much, much worse.

It happens a lot around here. Families buy up large houses, of which there are many, knock them down with grand plans of pooling their money and building even bigger houses, then the money runs out and the houses are left unfinished and sold off cheap.

It's a problem that is keeping house prices of large houses artificially low as their either being bought to demolish so it's only the value of the land being traded or sold off incomplete. You can buy a 5-7 bed for not much more than a 4 bed.

Not sure.


Since I reached pensionable age I've left that turning upside down stuff to younger people. Sadly, my permit's lapsed now, so I'm no longer licensed to do it.
