I love the comment that the medieval streets of Milverton won't be able to take the increased traffic, as if they're still cobbled and the [STRIKE]peasants[/STRIKE] villagers are going about with horses and carts.


They seem to forget that before the days of the M5 and North Devon Link road, the main route into North Devon ran smack-bang through the centre of the village, so it was packed one end to the other with traffic every Saturday in summer and traversed by heavy goods vehicles every weekday.

Not what I would call formal gardens to the front either.

Although I suppose it's formal compared to the back.

And the CH boiler in the "dining hall" adds a certain je-ne-sais-quois to the ambience.

It's not a real mews house either, but that hasn't stopped the agent calling it one. Where on earth does he suppose the link is with former stables?


Perhaps it reminded him of the Augean stables in Greek mythology, overflowing with manure! :rotfl:

Our current house was worse when we bought it in March, with the exception of the bathroom and two walls in the rest of the house, it was magnolia across the board (including on the ceiling!) complemented by magnolia-esque beige carpets upstairs and notamillionmilesawayfrommagnolia laminate flooring downstairs.
