  • One of the clearest examples I've seen for a while of a Marmite property - either love it or hate it.

    I hate it.

Looks like a municipal carpark to me. All that particular bete noire of mine - ie concrete.:eek:_pale_

Give me a countryish thatched cottage (on second thoughts - don't - reminding myself about insurance costs again, as I studied the details of one earlier today - thinking "I'd just have to replace that main roof darn it") or 21st century standard modern taste (which is what I'd be hoping to get) any day.

This is a lovely piece of period design looks-wise, in an iconic building, but not really set up for modern living and a lot of money for the space. Though I know the location and it's very nice.

I love that, without reservation. I'd have less furniture and stuff, though. Space is everything to me.

It's nice, but three things put me off: it's a 1-bedroom, the kitchen is the size of a phone box and it's only an 86-year lease.

I am not sure any of those is fixable. You need I think a 2/3rds majority of lessees to buy the freehold, but in this building "many of the flats now provide accommodation for key workers under a co-ownership scheme" - meaning you wouldn't get it because they can't afford it. And that's assuming there are no special rules applicable to Grade I listed buildings.

I'm with Money. A dead antelope on the wall of a flat, fgs. Just shows, money can't buy taste. If I had that kinda dosh, I'd have my 90 acres and, if necessary, private guards to fend off the chavs/pikers/whatever.

For my weekend pad in town, it'd be ideal. The kitchen is more than big enough for making a cuppa - anything else and me and my trophy spouse would be up West for a spot of fain daining.

Just... what?! All the things money can buy with no particular idea what to do with them for the most part.

I just don't have the words to describe anything that awful.

Owner: "It's a grade II listed chalet, imported from Switzerland in 1882"

    Friend: "Cool."

O: "And I've put a beach in it."

F: "Of course you have. Why wouldn't you?"

Perhaps, if one had cats, there would be cause to reconsider....;)

Looks like the illegitimate offspring of Country Bear Hall and a pagoda, done up as a crack den.
