Was it the views of the local area, or the actual presentation of the property itself, which made you buy it...

The vendors (divorcing) accepted our offer of £250k - it was on for £280k, so we thought we'd got a good deal for a five bed, Grade 2 listed house that needed complete restoration in a nice village in Wiltshire. Turns out they were keeping vital info regarding a new build development at the rear of the building from us. They blatantly lied so we walked.
They dropped the price to £250k. No interest. By now the building of executive homes completely marring the previously unspoiled view was underway. It went to auction with a guide of £230k. It failed to sell. It finally sold 16 months later for just under £182k.......I think we dodged a bullet with that one!
There are approx 50 new housing association homes being built in a town close to where we live. They are completely blocking off the views of a number of terraced houses. The views were of the Welsh valleys and mountains...3 of the 5 houses have been put on the market in the last month and unsurpisingly, they have not sold as the building work accross the road really is an eyesore.
It sounds terrible, but so many people are put off by the words "housing association"....even though these houses are available to be purchased.
The loss of view would put me off....not the type of housing.0 -

But on the other hand it's in Terrington St. Clements where the African Violet nursery is!“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

Picture 4, the estate agent obviously didn't have time to allow the vendor to get out of shot of the camera.0
