A lot of energy could be saved if more houses had one of these
Really nice house overall! I'm trying to think but... was this previously on Grand Designs? I can't see any mention of it in the description, but I swear I've seen it on the TV somewhere.
EDIT: Ah yeah, turns out it was on "Grand Designs: House of the Year 2015". The Daily Mail article on it is surprisingly useful in fact, and one of the images towards the end shows a before and after effect.0 -
Looks like a fairly ordinary house on the outside but pics 2, 3 and 4 would suggest otherwise!

An explanation of what a shoplifter would know - but I obviously don't.....would be useful.
There's often one way glass somewhere in the larger shops/supermarkets.
Long before CCTV and radios, we would watch dodgy-looking persons for signs that things were going into inside pockets/bags etc. As I was only part time and usually not visible to customers, I'd sometimes be deployed on the shop floor as an additional pair of eyes, giving a yes or no signal via the one way glass.
It was hard, though. We had to be 100%sure, and the really skilled thieves were almost impossible to catch out. There was no action replay at half speed!
We'd usually catch some young Mum with a tin of milk, or a pensioner etc, who'd just get a warning if it was their first time, or even their second!0 -
Money, I have the sticky on stuff - it creates a one way mirror effect, so people can't see in, but you can see out. As for installing, if you are like me and can't avoid bubbles on something as small as an iPad, you get it fitted.0

Was it the views of the local area, or the actual presentation of the property itself, which made you buy it...

If that's worth 230k then all the things I have been reading about Luton being the next-big-thing property wise are true.0
