Sounds like a clever idea. I think the weird thing about this one is that the lower bed is a double...
That's a bit odd, right enough.
As regards the room with divided bunk beds, I'm surprised you don't see more ideas like that.
Another space-saving idea was a kitchen with integrated units but the corner unit was hiding the shower form the under-stairs shower/W.C which extended into the kitchen unnoticed IYSWIM.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

I used to live in Tokyo and not surprisingly there was lots of clever space saving ideas to be seen there.. My brother in law is a property developer and when he came to visit he was amazed at the clever use of space and implemented quite a few ideas back in his developments. Some student housing he built for example has the sink/toilets like this

Next door is up for sale too
Well - the next door one looks like it would do okay for a starter house. I'd be glad the next door shiny house was up for sale though - as I'm not sure what would happen to their fence when their fence posts "my" side of the wall had been removed for intruding.
But I'll admit the style of the first one is putting me off - even the bits that are "personal" and would be removed (that huge tv and shiny bedspread).0 -
Now, that is impressive. Clearly they not only do things different oop north but they have a different way of expressing themselves too.
Errr...yes...not my idea of well-presented either. Not even back in the 1970s - when I can recall liking wood panelling on walls (40 years ago....!).
We probably share the same definition of well-presented = pale plain walls/HUGE bathroom tiles with the modern bathroom suite/any grass definitely not looking like someone has had a go at it with the weedkiller/not wondering if the place might be a bit damp/modern kitchen.0 -

That's brilliant! I'd seen a version of that in a book somewhere and wondered how that never caught on elsewhere. I think there was also a rule in parts of Japan that that houses needed a separate W.C. and bath/shower room, and it has always baffled me when I see those being joined together on "Home Under the Hammer"-type shows, when it's far more ergonomic to keep them separate in a multi-person household. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Funnily enough I was looking at something like this for a potential house purchase we were looking at a couple of months ago where we wanted to split the space currently used as a shower room into a shower room and ensuite shower, therefore needing smaller space for the shower/loo/basin area.
