I thought "Ridiculous looking bungalow with a funny roof, odd layout and messed-up garden."
For similar money, someone could get this, with a big pond and a decent garden....

Bit too close to the A 361, though.0 -
I like that but not enough land.
361 wouldn't bother me.0 -
Probably.

I can see attractions in that one - though it would be "Sigh - that road nearby and second sigh that 'river frontage' tends to translate into insurance company hassle and possible flood risk". Lots of good points to it - so shame...0 -
No great flood risk as the 'river' is a stream well below the house, but it does = free water for gardening.
I could have chosen a property with more land, but I was just showing something that offered a much better house and garden because of its location.0 -

As soon as you want land above an acre, the quality of the house really starts to suffer in terms of value per £k. That one at least has plenty of room in it.0 -
OK.... here's one near me. Lots of potential and probably not as good as it appears, but not flying off the shelf, so maybe scope to negotiate.;)

You'd have thought they would make more of a thing about the views and show more of the land.
House itself = lots of work to make it un-boring bog standard/change of fuel stuff to do/walls arent what I call "proper" walls by the look of it (ie they are concrete blocks - rather than bricks). I've learnt to spot signs of pipes going down the walls that "shouldnt be" probably means concrete block walls:(.
So - yep....a "well - the house comes with it too" sorta house and I see what you mean.0 -
If they use that disco equipment at lot, I bet neighbours at the back will be very pleased to see them moving:

:rotfl:That house did not produce a good reaction in me all round...and I'd have probably got round to crossing fingers for them to move before spotting the disco equipment...
I think I'd rather view a house that was bog-standard BORING/1980s rules okay/probate house first basically....0 -
I don't think making that house 'unboring' would be very difficult. It's not a major redecoration job, all it needs are some colourful accents - less restrained curtains, some pretty cushions and maybe some rugs would transform it.0
