I find the whole concept of a private beach very odd and, if I were out in a boat and wanted a "private" beach to relax on, I'd automatically pull in on that one and use it and the thought wouldn't even cross my mine that someone might have decided they own it. In this country we take it as read that all beaches are ours.

Redlap House only owns down to high water mark, so the beach is not really "private" there, although you would need a boat to reach it (or be one heck of a swimmer).
