My theory about those walls is that, like some other fashions, it was born out of someone doing a bit of "make do and mend". In this case it might be down to "Here John...the last blimmin' owner of this house mucked up that wall there and the room needs replastering. Darn nuisance, because the other 3 walls are okay". To which John replied "No problem dear....we've got that leftover bit of wallpaper that should just cover that wall. We'll put that up and persuade everyone that's how its meant to be and its a Decorative Feature".0
