No, paypal take the balance back no matter what. Account is put into negative balance, then they send in the debt collection agency for the cash.

Disagree... but I do agree with OP....
Paypal DO give you nothing if there are no funds in the sellers paypal account.....

Paypal has its pitfalls.... It happened to me !!

Its that people are buying them as they are cheap, probably paying through paypal and awaiting delivery.

If it arrives, they can relist it on eBay for more..
If it dont arrive, they can claim the cash back through paypal.

    does it matter.?

you get your cash back either way..

the people who lose out are paypal..then they bring in the police where they get there man.

They have to withdraw the cash to a bank account, from there they have a name, and from that name they have an address. They they find the guy, have them for theft etc..

Also payment is by paypal and you are protected. If you do not receive the items you can claim your money back, which I have had to do with someone else before and I got my money back.

I suggest you read up on Paypal buyer protection

Will, I have been through it twice,, the second time was actually only a few weeks ago.

And, as there were no funds on the scammers account paypal said they could do nothing untill there were funds back in the account..
