    Oh s**t

Just read some posts and i ordered a wii on the virgin site on saturday, but have not had the email others have had,

Do you think they had some and will honour them?

    Advice would be welcome.

I live in Ely cambridgeshire so if any one has some points of where there are some i would be most grateful as the hunt continues,
Same here. I ordered a wii from virgin. I have had an order confirmation e-mail but not the cancellation e-mail others have had....yet.

Surely they would have sent out cancellations to everyone whose order they cannot fufill by now? On the other hand maybe they are just incompentent.

We thought it was best to try places that you think would be the least likely to have them so we tried Morrisons today and got one thank goodness!

    Just got this from them
    Dear Customer

Owing to technical issues on our website over the weekend, the Nintendo Wii
console was made available with a 24 hour despatch estimate.

Unfortunately a substantial amount of orders followed and we are not able
to fulfil demand. In this instance we have had to cancel your order. We
sincerely apologise for any inconvenience that has been caused. Nintendo
Wii is strictly limited in the lead up to Christmas and stock levels are
    outside of our control.

As we have not been able to fulfil your order for Nintendo Wii, any
additional items on the order have also been cancelled, as we want to
ensure that you do not receive games or accessories and not the console
    itself.

You will receive a cancellation confirmation and your order status will
update in the next 2-3 days. Please note you have not have been charged for
your order. Any monies confirmed are where your bank has pre authorised the
amount pending order completion. On cancelling the order, your bank should
    release the funds.

Once again, we would like to sincerely apologise for any inconvenience
    caused.

    Kind Regards,

    Customer Services
    Virgin Megastores

Your Search Is Over... the new www.virginmegastores.co.uk

This is typical Virgin Megastores customer service. Also what on earth are they reffering to in comments such as 'Any monies confirmed are where your bank has pre authorised the amount pending order completion' and 'on cancelling the order, your bank should release the funds.' What a load of codswallop. Why can't they just say that they have messed up (as usual) and that they will ensure you will get your money back where they have taken it under the false promise of delivering a WII?

Virgin Megastores are truly rubbish and now that Branson has sold off his stake I doubt they will be in existence for much longer. My advice would be to avoid them completely.

  • Just got my email from virgin too - this is ridiculous, we all ought to buy the new PS3 instead! I can't believe that I've a 10 year old begging for this game when Nintendo are playing us with the supply being as pathetic as this!

P.S. I've tried the Meltham and Waterloo Morrison's in Huddersfield and neither store say they sell them

Why? It's got a year's warranty, the 2 pin fits into a sympathetic looking adapter so it looks like a 3 pin plug. If you are that worried, cut it off after the year and put a 3 pin plug on.
  • I ordered mine yesterday with virgin !
