I noticed there is a Chinese supermarket opposite Butterfly Walk in Camberwell.

Hi Bongedone - I've been in there a few times (Wing Tai) but they don't seem to sell the large quantities of white vinegar I persist in looking for. The Peckham branch of Wing Tai has been known to stock it, but not noticeably cheaper by volume than the smaller bottles you can get in Morrisons...

Yes, Morrison is quite cheap. They had gallon tubs in pickling season at the Peckham branch. I will keep my eyes pealed.

If I spot it cheap I will repost to this thread. I get around a lot of supermarkets in my job. You may have seen me at Morrisons if you go in the daytime.

Hi All - I've just moved to this area (between Peckham and East D) so read this thread with interest. Peckham high street is great but a little overwhelming! The last post was a while ago however, so was just wondering if anyone had any new tips, shops etc that they love?

Is the Choumert Road market still happening does anyone know?

    Thanks!

redj5 I don't live there any more but when I visit my favourite shops are Khans (opposite PR train station) and Persepolis.

Can definitely recommend the East street market.. also Sophocles bread in Camberwell is *amazing* - the greengrocer's next door is also good (but don't have any idea of how cheap/expensive it is).

They all sound great, especially Khans, I'll take a look - many thanks.

I'm looking for a good greengrocer nearer to me. I am always a bit wary (posisbly unecessarily) about the ones that display produce in bowls outside the shop - with the traffic going past. I always htink they must pick up the dust, pollution etc, but I suppose just as a supermarket displays them in a better manner, you don't see what happens to that fruit before it arrives in the shop.
