    It's really odd because as area go it's okay, nothing that requires bars imo. Just think they are safety conscious, but surely bars on a window would put anyone off the house. Especially someone that has £800k to play with.

    Jealous? I wouldn't live in Loughton or in that house if you paid me. And FWIW I think it is *your* house OP, not a friend's. You are reacting too personally to the perfectly valid opinions posted on here. How would you know how visitors react to a 'friend's' house?

    How would I know? Because I know her very well and have been there when we've had parties etc, - it's really not rocket science.

    How is commenting on the sofa, or the dinning table a perfectly valid reason? It's the house which is for sale, not the contents.

    How lovely to resort to personal insults. FWIW I live in a house worth more than seven figures in a very exclusive area. Foreign exchange trading you see, it pays well. Not that this is a competition of course. And it *is* about how a house is presented. The house is ugly, over extended, unappealing and badly decorated.
