internet worked. so i guess it should work once the o2 sim is in there.
if internet works that means email works, surely. theres diff ways to email on phone, eg browser or client based....maybe one works and the other not, that being the add on thing.
i dont understand why i would need a data allowance sim deal, if im only wanting to use my home wi fi system.
why does it need o2 software installed?
i think it will work fine after its unlocked....i dont care about 02 links or orange links, i never use those things.
it was a gift from someone who has bought a new phone.
I asked in case it was a business phone 'hand me down', as those often have a IT policy blocking certain features.
Whilst you can use the BB without the BIS, it seems inconvenient to only try to use the BB when you are at home.
So, yes, if you have the correct Service Books installed, you will still have function.
Let us know how you get on or if you get stuck somewhere.0 -
dont think it was work related phone.
i dont want to use internet outside of my home, ive been using a sony old phone without internet just fine,
i just want texts, calls, pictures, camera, and ability to email pictures would be nice, at home with wi fi....
i pay £15 at moment, dont wanna pay any more, im gonna look for a cheaper tarrif too...
ill let you know what happens after i unlock it......cheers.
right, just unlocked it from a phone shop = £5
my o2 sim is working in there.
internet is working on phone at my home wi fi......(not too fast though, considering i have real fast broadband connection on landline)
im happy.
you know when not using handset, you have a lock on the phone, so you dont
accidently press buttons, is that the "password" in settings? it asks for a long password,
which is annoying, as everytime you want to use phone, you have to type in that long password?
on other nokia/sony phones you just press 2 buttons to unlock the screen......am i missing
something?0 -
hi again, in need help with whatsApp on blackberry curve.
it works for me at home, using my wifi......and when im on the streets, it works. But i dont want it to work outside my home wi fi,
i guess my 02 simplicity is using the 02 data service, which they will charge me? im pretty sure my simplicity sim has no data usage,
so why are they connecting to it, without asking me?
ive tampered with some settings, and not sure which setting to use now.
dont think there is an option to turn off whatsapp.
is there?
blackberry options>mobile network: data services, on or off? while roaming on off or prompt?
Connetion preference ? mobile network only, mobile network preferred, wi fi only, wi fi preferred.
can someone help me choose these please?
so i just want whatsapp to work when im in my home using my home wi fi..... not outdoors, as i dont have data plan,
thankyou0
