Can I join, please? I know I said that on the last challenge and then promptly disappeared, but I promise to stay this time.

I've been seriously off the wagon, for a long time, and it's all a bit of a mess again. I've got loads of small things which are doing my head in and I need to clear them to be able to think straight and get on with the rest of it.

Horrifyingly, these various things add up to £5162.64

Can't see in my current budget how I can clear that amount before the end of the challenge (even if I stick to the budget, which hasn't happened for some time), but you never know :)

ETA: upped total as added some more - not strictly debt, but things that are needed for peace of mind and aren't in the budget.

    Hi All,

Could I join you on this one? Can I aim for £600 initially to clear the Halifax CC, and towards car insurance which is due in Dec.
LBM - 08/08/11, total debt at LBM = £13,472.93
    MOT/Service fund - £230.22; halifax cc £314.60/£284.60 (9.5%); Natwest cc £2,106.53/£2076.53 (1.42%); halifax loan £11,051.80
    Weekly Spend Challenge £9.07/£50; Nifty Thrify Aug 0lbs/4lbs £89.16/£350 (25.47%); PAD from 08/08/11 - £89.16; 1 debt vs 100 days £59.16/£600 (9.86%)
  • Hola
Can you put me down for this challenge this time too please?
We're wanting to get our CC cleared pre-Christmas, so I'm gonna go for £1750 to get a beautiful big fat zero of a balance!!!
Looking forward to this, thanks so much to all those who've done this before and provided the inspiration.

Decluttering, I didn't understand how much do you want to put for a challenge. You need £3500 by April, but how much for this thread?
Oops, sorry Amara! Could you put me down for £1000 please? Thank you :)

I'm not entirely sure what my strategy will be yet, all my physical loose change goes into my Sealed Pot but I could put all the virtual loose change aside into my spare account! I've also put my name down for some overtime in the next couple of months and I've been told that the overtime I done previously (which I thought was being credited at my basic hourly rate) was credited at double time!!! So I can't wait to put some of that in!
    Thank you competition posters!
  • Oh goodness I nearly had a fit then, I have been so caught up in work I forgot the start date of the challenge and was in a panic there thinking it had started :rotfl:

So glad it hasn't cos I'm still trying so hard to get this OD paid off before the start of this one. I've £236.18 to find before the start of the next challenge, will chase up an outstanding invoice now and hopefully that'll be it paid off :T.

My next step is cutting up the card. Here goes...
    1 debt in 100 days.
    1. O/D £1166.40 now paid :j
    2. CC1: £2,000
  • Really useful thread Amara :T
  • Hello everyone :)

I know this is the new thread but I just wanted to share my news. I've done it, I've paid off my overdraft :j I started the challenge on 4th July and have just paid off the remaining balance. I have managed to clear £1166.40 in a short time. Honestly you have no idea how proud I am of myself right now but also so blooming mad that I didn't do it before now :o

Anyway, am ready for the next challenge - bring it on :rotfl:
