Hey now, no dissing the pickled cabbage. It goes WONDERFUL with hot pot :D
Pickled cabbage [esp if you grew and pickled it yourself] is fantastic. Even better is pickled courgette. Scrummy.

Can I confess that I love pickled red cabbage mixed into mashed potatoes?

    And with hotpot.

    And with Irish stew.

I'd make sure you can get the lid off before you leave the shop. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

OMG I've just been to put the broken glass in the recycling bin and 2 of the neighbours were looking at me rather strangely. Wasn't till i walked past the hallway mirror that i realised I have white tracksuit bottoms on, and the back of them is covered from the juice from the jar.

I jumped over the jar as i dropped it and it must have splashed me. I look like i'm covered in blood!!!!

My poor neighbours probably now think i'm a serial killer.
you should have shouted , don't worry i only kill once daily so ill see you tommororw lol

I hope it's 'proper' mash and not just packet stuff.

You sound like a gal who takes her red cabbage seriously. ;)

I'll also confess that when I have a really bad hangover (you know when it feels like something crawled into your mouth during the night and died sort?) I sometimes have a swig of red cabbage vinegar in the morning.
It usually works - and if it doesn't I try Sharwoods Lime Pickle.
  • Proper mash only in this house....so on sunday morning when my mouth feels like someone crawled in and carpeted it, then i should drink the vinegar?

Knowing my luck i'll be that drunk, i'll crawl home on saturday night, and try licking the garage floor :o

Yep I can honestly say this is probably the most random rant I have ever posted, and believe me i realised how rediculous it was as soon as I posted it. I just couldn't help myself though...lol

Glad it made you smile though :)

I can see you're not a true (and serious) red cabbage lover!

I'd never, ever give away an unopened jar of red cabbage.

Unless, of couse, it was a real medical emergency (and on second thoughts) I reckon Rain_is_Insane's situation just might have been). ;)
