The DVR3003 supports plus and minus formats

The box is for the DVR3004 is misleading.
It will play pre-recorded DVD-R and -RW's but will not record on them.
I tried a DVD-R in mine and it just came up with "disk loading" on the screen.
I don't know about the DVR30030 -

According to the Amazon link below, the 3004 will also record on -R and -RW disks but according to the manual and my personal experience it will not.

Looks like Amazon were wrong about the DVD3003 as well, other site are saying recording to +R/RW only.Don't take life too seriously, no one gets out alive0 -

99% sure the model was GDVD 306 R, £34.99 reduced to half price in the sale. Almost bought one then thought I really don't need one and it's just a waste.
No idea how good it is but it is only +r / +rw but for £35 it's not bad, no idea how they vary stockwise around the UK my store had 20 or 30 of them but it's a newer and bigger store than most.
Thought it had DVI in via a firewire socket on the front panel, but you want to check that before buying. I'm working on memory there
Great find - just picked one up from Milton Keynes 31.50 as it is is 10% off day.-There is one more on display but no box etc that I could see - maybe they have them in the back.
Anyone found a multi region hack for this one - I will search and post later if I find one.
I confirm Model is Goodmans GDVD 306 R it records +r/+rw, Kodak picture CD.
Connections copied from the box :
2*scart, S-video in and out, composite video out, optical and coaxial digital, audio out, RF antenna in/out, front AV inputs.
There is no DVI input though.0 -

It must be the same machine as the bush DVR3003 not surprising as they are the same company.Don't take life too seriously, no one gets out alive0 -
Can someone please kindly explain how this works. I have 3 questions...
1. The main reason I am purchasing this is to record programmes off sky plus.
When I record these programmes, will they go onto some kind hard disk? If so, how big is the hard disk?
2. I have recently bought a brand new Acer laptop, would it be worth me just buying some extra h/w to allow me to record from sky plus onto the laptop instead?
3. I noticed this doesn't have the Electronic Progam Guide (EPG) function. Is this similar to sky plus' TV guide? as I was looking to stop my Sky subscription.
Any ideas much appreciated as I have reserved one to pick up at 5 tonight!0 -

1. You can record off sky, see post 38. There is no hard disc in this machine, it records to a DVD+r or DVD+rw.
2. You could do it but it wouldn't be worth it.
3. To replace sky you could get a Freeview Hard disc recorder (get a twin tuner model available from 80 quid) this will have EPG but you would only get the freeview channels.
The DVD recorder is just a replacement for your VHS machine and a DVD player.Don't take life too seriously, no one gets out alive0
