youtravel.com - they have good prices - I found them to be the cheapest for my hotel. I've read that some of these other sites actually book the rooms with them down the line.
But I'm no expert - just an internet trawler looking for a bargain ha ha ha.
Yes but as everyone said flights I found much cheaper direct.
Good Holidays :beer:You're my wife now Dave.......0 -
I reserved a hotel booking with travel republic in Scotland, but I got stuck in a snow storm in Derbyshire, so I couldn't make the drive up. I tried to call the night before, but their customer service had just closed. I went online and tried to cancel it, but I couldn't. It said that they would get back to me via email, but I never recieved one. I ended up having to call customer service 3 times, got hung up on by an extremely rude operator, and had to jump through all kinds of hoops, just for them to tell me that the money wouldn't be refunded. Not only that, they charged me an additional £20 as a service fee. I'll never use them again.0

What were the T&C's of your booking re cancellation?
Did you have travel insurance which covered bad weather?0 -
Sorry you had a bad experience.
I have no experience of their customer service. I did, however, get a fantastic online deal for the Swan and Dolphin Resort (Swan) at Disneyworld Florida.
The price was so good I fully expected a problem on arrival, but in fact the receptionist announced there was a note on the reservation which instructed her that as a "preferred partner guest" she was to waive the daily resort fee, give us a discount voucher booklet for the resort restaurants/ shops/ bars and she offered us an upgrade to an Epcot view room for just $10 a night extra!
I was flabbergasted. My only experience of Travel Republic, but couldn't have asked for more!
Did wonder if it was all a mistake though!0 -
Im just looking at holidays on TR now, and im very impressed, no hidden costs unlike icelolly.com. ive ear marked lots of hotels I like so that I can show hubby and my parents (there coming along to) Any idea how it works with a rep? do u get one or not? sorry if that's a silly question. Asking as I know you have to add on your own transfers etc0

I have booked for the first time with travel republic as the packages are getting silly prices and so far i am really impressed,as for a rep no you don't get one but you do get an emergency number for if you get any problems, but do you really want a rep to try and sell you expensive trips
If you do book with them make sure you take out travel insurance as soon as possible as many flights are non refundable0 -
I have also used them several times. Had one issue where holiday price they displayed was charged at a higher price. Got it sorted in the end, and they did honour it, but i would definitely copy and paste pricing pages now for reference. I use them for independent flights and hotel bookings, some hotels are difficult to research as not all are used by UK travel agents. Went to Rhodes and only one other British party of four there. No issue for us at all but it might be for those who like the entertainment in english or food geared to UK tastes.
One final point it to make sure you have travel insurance which covers independent flights and accommodation bookings as a lot of them don't.0 -
Thank you, no not fussed about a rep there just useful sometimes with the info they give out, like when we went to Greece last year if it wasn't for the rep we wouldn't have been aware about the gypsy that try to sell u things in the street while another is taking your wallet out of your pocket, just not something I would have even thought about. Maybe that's just me, me and OH hadn't been abroad for 10years until last year so not upto date on the do's, don't and how and where's.I have booked for the first time with travel republic as the packages are getting silly prices and so far i am really impressed,as for a rep no you don't get one but you do get an emergency number for if you get any problems, but do you really want a rep to try and sell you expensive trips

We have used TR several times for hotels abroad and not had any problems, it was a bit strange the first time walking into a hotel at 10pm with a bit of paper that i had printed at home and then they never even looked at it but took our passport as they do, never worried since. With the pick pockets also avoid the pea men and the crowds around them and watch out for the person that points out a bird has gone on your shoulder and then offers to help clean it for you as he picks you pocket0

Booked hotel, but a month later received e-mail asking to pay additional £500 on my booking
Anyone know my rights about this, can they charge you exta after booking, say there has been pricing error ...0
