Can anybody help me please.
Since Friday I type for example, Ebay into my google search engine and it diverts me to another website.
I've tried through firefox and internet explorer. Later on in the day, it seems to work ok.
It has been doing this Saturday, Sunday and up to now this morning.
I have Malware byters installed and AVG and nothing shows up. I don't have any viruses and nothing in quarrantine.
It's getting rather annoying.
If I type the address into my browser it seems to work ok, but through the search engines, it changes it.

Make sure that you update the latest scan information from Malwarebytes before you run it. If that doesn't find it, try Spybot.

I'm sure that I have read of a Trojan or other virus that loads a pseudo-Google page and then takes you off elsewhere. Also, if you reach Google by it being your Home Page or from Favourites, delete the entry and type in the Google page un the URL bar and see if that solves it - your Home Page / Favourites entry might have been changed by the virus.

I'd change my virus protection to Avast or Microsoft Security Essentials afterwards as clearly, if you have contracted something, AVG didn't fully protect you - assuming you have it always up-to-date.

    Try running
HitmanPro (32-bit) or HitmanPro (64-bit) depending on what system you have

Is it the google search box at the top right of the browser?
Sometimes this can be adjusted by malware code.

If so click on the drop down arrow and select find more providers.
Reselect Google and set as default again to check its not been set to another site.

    Thanks all.
Is Hitman free as I have noticed it says buy now. I don't want to do the scan and then it asks for money.

Also I know it sounds thick, but how do I delete my homepage from firefox. Would you just reinstall Mozilla firefox, then reinstall it?
I search through the search engine in the middle of the page not at the top.

You have an infection that is redirecting your searches. You say you have Malwarebytes installed, but have you actually run it to check? The free version of MBAM is only an on-demand scanner, it doesn't do automatic detection.
Then get rid of AVG and use Avira, Avast or MSE, all much better free AV programs.

Thanks for that. I typed in Avast and it says Free anti virus for home users. I can't afford to pay anything, so is that free one ok?
My brother has just recommended using Rapport or something.

    yes free version is fine

I wouldn't put rapport on, you have enough problems already

scan with tdsskiller and post a hijackthis log first.
