I have used up a chocolate cake mix which has made a rather dull chocolate cake that didn't come out of the tin very well. What can I make with chocolate sponge (which smells more like pudding than cake IYSWIM...) that I can freeze in small portions to have as treats?
Bathroom now pretty much done. Hopefully OH will help me with the last few bits tomorrow.
Now I need to look at my list of phone calls and tackles the airing cupboard.0 -

Hows about as a base for "Black Forest Trifle"
Layer up in a posh glass
Choccy sponge
Splash of booze
Jarred cherries or rasps (LIDL)
Whipped cream
Crushed Maltesars as a topping
and a triple heart by-pass for afters :rotfl:
Just finished making honey and oatmeal soap - just because I can and I have all the ingredients to hand and because I am worth itSmells seriously yummy.
Will have to run another batch of olive oil castille up in the next few days too - but that's my "everyday" soap - t'other one was just a touch of luxury.

Oooh the soap sounds divine MG and as for the Black Forest trifle - faints away...
Hope all goes as well as it can in Gloucester Claire.
News today is that the second coat of paint in the porch is finished :j. Major tada... drum roll please.... this means I have painted and decorated every room in the house  :j .
Still loads to do but the jobs are smaller and can all be classed as "tarting up" jobs, they won't need whole days or weeks-at-a-time allocated to them. I can now have fun developing my designer rather than decorator skills.
Off now though to tackle the ironing - boooo.

Thanks for the ideas... I think I'm going to go for a black forest tiramisu (I know tiramisu freezes well and is edible while defrosting
) with the chocolate cake replacing boudoir biscuits and adding some cherries. I will have lots more cake soon as I have to start baking for my nephew's birthday cake, and as it's a sugar paste covered job, I'll have to trim an inch off all round...

Home with an ice pack from the local oral surgeon - I was referred by my normal dentist to have an abscess treated, above an existing root canal treatment... wasn't as traumatic as I was expecting but there was quite a lot of vigorous work  and 4 stitches, so I've been warned I'll look like a well-stuffed hamster by Friday! Just as well I'm not back at work till Monday, and not seeing clients till Tuesday :rotfl::rotfl:
MG how kind of you to go back and insert weights into the bread recipe. No wonder we all loves ya!If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Your welcome hon - hope your gums feel better soon then you can make some to try.
Boys have just had 2 slabs with raspberry jam as a "snack" before dinner. Still that's snack food I don't mind them having.

MG - Thanks for putting in the weights, I will work out a cup size from my collection as I like to save the scales for when I really need exact measurements. And well done on the loaf tin - don't you just love a bargain!
Have been very busy with the decluttering, but started outside at the end garage where all the summer stuff is - getting ready to pack it all away soon cos I have my doubts if we will have much more sunshine! Have two bags for the dump, a load of things to ebay, and everything else tidied up and floor swept. I have ten days holidays starting Friday and my car has to go in for repair after some idiot damaged it and drove away without telling me, (costing me £450) so if I have no car for three days I reckon I can get a lot of clearing/ebaying done. Any money I make will be going in the pot for a woodburning stove/installation. I have warned my family that they will all need to be doing their bit over my hols as I intend to be very productive and a fair bit wealthier at the end! I started adding to the fund yesterday when I returned a heater which was not working, after finding the box it came in and the receipt inside so I am £15 up at the moment. I am feeling very motivated to make some money and clear this clutter.
Got to take GS home now and go to work, but I am hoping to get some listing done tonight when I get home.Sealed pot Challenge 2011 member No 1241 - Final total £154.21

Great news about blog space - now I can catch up with any not on my list, altho' not enough hours in the day as it is.
Ouch to sore gums and hamster cheeks GQ.
Grrr to dishonest car drivers claudiac.
Just had phone call from ds, he has gone on one of his walks and got himself lost - dh to the rescue with me manning base operations. We're used to this - we keep telling him to stay around where he is familiar with but he argues that he'll never learn new routes if he doesn't explore - can't fault his logic but our nerves would benefit from a little less of his wandering.0
