I will be back to catch up on lunch break but in the meanwhile probably a bit silly question: What is the difference between resume and a CV?"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

So far as I am aware Marru, nothing! resume is what the US calls a CVDo not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Good luck for your interview Sunflower.
Did not have a good night's sleep last night - was fretting over money or lack of it. So decided to get back to reality and look at progress over the past year. Combining dh's wage and my carer's allowance we bring in the grand total of 18k or 1.5k per month after deductions. From this we managed to reduce our housedebt and mortgage by 10k :j. This leaves us with an outstanding mortgage of 21k.
There is no doubt, this level of debt-busting takes it toll and I for one am kn*ckered with being a debt-busting carer. Next year we are going to ease off slightly to try to include some short-breaks.
Bitsy I don't know how you can motivate your oh, I can only share our situation. We are strongly motivated to get this mortgage cleared asap and I guess fear is the strongest motivator. Dh's company is hanging on by it's finger-nails and it feels as if we are in a death-race - will we get the mortgage paid before the company goes t*ts-up - who knows. The other main motivator is the fact that there is just us - we have no family to help us out (they keep coming to us for !!!!!!) and certainly no future inheritances waiting in the wings, unfortunately.
So deep breath, elbows out and keep fighting-the-good-fight.0 -
Matrix Ladies: It may be worth checking your FB accounts as I have just been warned by a friend that all telephone numbers are listed in your contacts, particularly if you use your phone! I checked and it's true and I don't use my phone.Debt at start of DMP 1/6/09: £2942 - £1942

Ok - caught up now. Thank you for your answeres and what a thought provoking stuff has been going on here.
I really need to get a grip of my finances so off to scootle to FW's diary to find out what were the percentages she is using. I think if I allocate certain percentage to the mandatory stuff I would be able to keep tabs on it better. For me at the moment it is either nitty gritty accruately or nothing at all. Some kind of compromise has to be reached as it has been the nothing variety lately.
When it comes to the increase of income I have short term and long term plan: short term I have decided to apply for the senior role (GreenBee - are you around for help please) and then long term I am increasing my skills (ACCA, Excel, Access) to either get even better job or start doing bits as self empoyed.
In the meanwhile I have LOADS of stuff to sell."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

I've seen a few posts about this on FB, but are you sure? If I look in my FB contacts the only numbers are people who've put their numbers onto their FB account. Not my contacts from my mobile - I don't have any of these people's numbers on my phone.
If you want to make sure your number isn't shown to other people, you need to go into http://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=notifications#!/settings/?tab=privacy and click on 'customise settings' - scroll down to 'contact information' and you can change who can see your number.
Sorry to say, I think the message going round is one of these scaremongering things.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
I checked mine.. I have never listed my contact no's on FB. I can't see any reference to mobile numbers anywhere on my profile settings. I think it might be a silly hoax. (Correct me if I am wrong though, because in my opinion my number if private unless choose to let you have it0

i checked my FB too and couldn't find any reference to my phone number. have to say though I have the same attitude as TMIF. my number is private unless i give it to you and I very rarely give out my landline number. only close family and people from church (DH is treasurer) have itGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000

Been back and checked again - I had 3 of my friends numbers listed and removed them but 3 others have their numbers listed(silly). So not sure about it. I don't generally pass these things on but was quite shocked to find I had some numbers listed.Debt at start of DMP 1/6/09: £2942 - £1942
