Got 25kg of chapatti flour today - does anyone know if it works to make pittas and ordinary bread? I'm pretty sure its just wholemeal bread with the bran sifted out - so should work to make nice bread I think.
Of course I will be making chapattis - but 25kg makes about a million of them :rotfl:
Thought it was rather quiet - DS2, Mary and the boy cat are asleep in one of the AF cardboard boxes ................ cute!!! Yup, taken photo's

That reminded me of The Day of the Triffids

However I am one spreadsheet away from having the work for the Mentors :j:j Been a bit like pulling teeth but it is done. I have a feeling I may be being "encouraged" to do the 125k challenge soon
Off to cook some dinner I think, then settle down to populate the spreadsheet when DS2 is in bed.

Hi, again, ladies (and Mike),
I didn’t make much headway with the shoes but have turned-out my T-shirt drawer.
In the process I’ve de-cluttered a never-worn Fruit of the Loom white T-shirt with “I (heart) N Y MORE THAN EVER” on the front. Size L (measures112cm/44 inches immediately below sleeves). One of our American friends sent it to me after 9/11 but it’s languished in a drawer ever since. (Unwanted gift cos (a) I’m a size 8 (b) don’t wear slogans & (c) hated New York!) Would any of you like it? If so, PM me.
Someone on Yahoo asked about using chapati flour to make bread. The answer they were given was that there was little gluten in it, so you'd need to add some strong flour to make it work. Perhaps try a 50/50 mix to start and, if that works OK, increase the proportion of chapati flour until you hit the point where it's really not working!0 -
The kids have just spent an hour happily popping the bubble-wrap that came with the AF order.
DS2 has built a den with the boxes and has eaten his tea sitting inside with the cat.
I am happy with the bargains I got - so all in all a value for money day

Imagine my horror when it dawned on me that it was only bl**dy Thursday!
Well I've been convinced it's Sunday all day yesterday  Not sure whether I meant last Sunday rather than this Sunday so no idea whether to beor not at the realisation it's Thursday :rotfl:
Dee - well done on saying No :T
Re the August declutter challenges......I confess I am not really making much headwayI just don't feel in a position to really attempt these, it's hard enough making myself a cup of coffee when I am playing UN peace keeper between my kids never mind mindees

Don't sweat it Bitsy - play if you like, ignore us if you need. There's always something new to play with next month. Its only a bit of nonsense.
And before I forget - today's challenge was
Mugs!!!! Mugs!!!!! Mugs!!!!!!
Go on -how many have you honestly got?
Do you have four plain white elegant china mugs siting in splendid islation on a pristine shelf?
Or do you have a dozen or so mugs crammed into a cupboard that threatens to become a tsunami of broken crockery everytime you open the door?
Or are you in the position where you really don't know how many mugs you have -
- because there are some in the cupboard
- some inthe livingroom from last night
- some on the work-surfaces
- some on the table from breakfast
- one in the desk in your office from yesterday
- one on your bedside table fromthe cup of tea lovingly made when he went off to play golf at silly o'clock
- goodness knows how mnay in the kids rooms festering quitely and being regarded as "science projects" as they strive to germinate brand new biological life forms.
Mugs for me are the Forth Road Bridge of de-cluttering. As soon as you have purges one collection it is time to do it again. They annoyme so much that I ave resorted to drastic measures in the past.
So today your challenge is another 15 minute one: To collect every mug that you can find, wash them, dry them and line them up.
Now how many people live in your house? - choose one mug that will be "theirs" if they are fan of special mugs. If they have one mug that is "theirs" then when they ask for a drink, you ask them to find their mug and it finds its way into circulation much faster. You can also identify which "culprit" leaves theirs lying around in future.
So we have DS1 with a Dr Who one, DS2 with a "Singing Kettle" one and I have one with a great quote on it.
Take these mugs to one side. Now how many mugs do you need for "best" - for when guests or eh MIL comes to visit?
Now be realistic here, unless you have a home like the Waltons you are unlikely to need dozens.
So two? Four? Six? - I have a set of four that I love and that matches my kitchen. They stay, as for the rest, into a bag and straight ff to the Charity Shop with them ........quick....... before you change your mind.
So get corralling those mugs - round 'em up!!!! move 'em on!!!!!FINALLY AND OFFICIALLY DEBT FREESmall Emergency Fund £500 / £500

My bath and early bed did me a world of good last night.
Went through to the Big Smoke today and collected the new head of hair - as an added bonus, the hairstyle mercifully covers the corrugations which life has chiselled into my forehead:rotfl::rotfl:
Then went into M & S and treated myself to a hat which fits over the hair (light avoidance is medically necessary). So, blonde again, dark glasses, factor 50, hat and lippy, much more presentable. 100% happy! :j:j:j
Done today's declutter :A
Kids and cats do love boxes. I remember one Christmas my ex husband's then 3-year-old niece was given a stonkingly expensive toy in a huge box with a see-through panel. She got more fun and imaginative play out of the box than she ever did from the toy.If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.
