Think we Sassenachs call it ....................................
FUDGE !!!
Kind of, sort of, well .............................. nope!
Fudge is soft and squidgy.
Toffee is glossy and sticky.
Tablet is "short" - bit like kendal mint cake, a cripser texture with little sugar crystals in it.
...................... but all are good in my book

Re: packed lunches - luckily DD's hasn't been picked up on for being 'unhealthy' but mummy friends do tut at me for putting in a home made, undecorated, fairy cake or Twinks in every day - the rest of the lunch is a sandwich often on HM bread or roll, salad and fruit - when they are merrily putting in a fruit shoot, petit filou yoghurt and pack of flavoured crisps!! Hmm....I just laugh and carry on doing what makes sense for me and DD
I take my shredding to work, saves my 'leccy, my work bag is often full to the gunnels with old receiptsI was thinking of buying one of those paper log makers and using my fireplace a bit more this winter to get rid of some of the rubbish that somes through the letterbox, there's so much of it!

SCARY - what are some parents doing to their children - you could go into business MG - nutritious and tasty treats on a budget.
There's the rub - apart from the fact that DS1 doesn't "fancy" the school dinners (they are perfectly adequate he just didn't fancy the look of them as he loves his fresh crunchy stuff). They are £1.70 each.
Now our food bill per person is less than £1.00 per day and he feels its not worth it (he even costed out his dal, rice, chapati and veg day at 24p)
Can you tell I am using the costing exercise to get him to work on his arithmetic an decimal maths? Cruel Mummy.:D
The lovely MrF has set up a new blogsite for the MFi3 challenge - yipee!!!! Now I need to get myself organised and posting and get seriously moving towards the end date (in fact I need to set an end date don't I?)

Today is cup of tea and shredder time (paper shredder not the sadistic kind)
Grab your box of paper from yesterday and start shredding all the "stuff" that's in there that you really don't need to keep.
Is it only me or does anyone else get great satisfaction in ripping "Debt offers" in half and throwing them in the recycling bin? (I don't waste my electricity shredding them)
Hopefully the paperwork in your box has now reduced - but that's it, you don't need to go any further today.
Baby steps remember
Good morning, all. I'm beginning to get nervous because I decided to do some shredding today already. I woke up with it in my mind.
Are you setting challenges by telepathy now??;)But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -

Those packed lunches sound YUM MG - I have been shocked this week at work - I've been helping at a playscheme where the children have had to bring their own packed lunches (it is a special school and some of the children can be very 'fixed' in what they'll eat) - one boy brought pork pie, sausage roll, crisps and chocolate EVERY day for a week - this particular child eats every food put in front of him when he eats school lunches - out of a table of 8 children only 1 child brought any fruit or veg - that was throughout the week - I know at least 6 and maybe 7 of these kids eat fruit at school usually. I'd love to have heard what your dinner lady had to say about that MG - I was gobsmacked at what I saw. I'm all for a treat now and again but I suspect this made up the 'norm' of their diets - and non of it was home made!!!!!!!!!!! SCARY - what are some parents doing to their children - you could go into business MG - nutritious and tasty treats on a budget.
Playing devils advocate though by your own admission these children have additional needs and are fixed in what they'll eat. So whilst they might eat all they are presented with at school at home it could be a different matter. Take my DS for example......I put a yoghurt in his lunch box and he'll eat them every day. Won't touch them at home for love nor money. DS has rigidity of thinking and sometimes lacks that skill transference from one situation to another. If these were kids without additional needs then you'd be correct in your comments but given that these kids have extra needs all may not be as it seems.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning all
Kitchen looking fab-dab-e-dozie after 2 days of solid work.
Just having a cuppa and I'm going to do Half an Hour of sorting the pile of stuff (mainly paperwork which) I have accumulated on the family room floor.
Still not sure on the weather for the car boot tomorrow - looks like the only shower of the day could be at the opening time - but I'm going to get all the stuff down from the loft, sort and price it. Worse case scenario is that it all gets put back up there but it will be priced and ready for if there is a dry weekend in September. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Re packed lunches: I would soooo love someone to do a nutrional packed lunch for me! For some reason it is a chore I dislike and end up getting bored of sandwiches so feel myself drawn to the burger bar that is parked right outside our office
So MG if you were near me, I would most certainly pay you to provide lovely lunches if you were to set up such as business!OD [STRIKE] £2600 [/STRIKE] £0 :j Loan [STRIKE]£9500.00[/STRIKE] £0 :j Car [STRIKE]£3150[/STRIKE] £0 :j Moving Costs [STRIKE]£1300[/STRIKE] £0 :j Savings £1150 :j
