  • Ok. Phone calls made. Now it is decision time (not good at decisions! :o)

Do I go with Direct Line - total £393 (includes online discount, so WILL be more next year. Doesn't cover for accidental damage by minded children, or business equipment/stock - ie toys, laptop?)
    OR
Blufin - total £439 (no discount, so in theory should be similar next year, and covers ALL accidental damage (including Devil Child!) aand business toys & equipment)?
These are the total amounts payable, on monthly payments after interest is added.

Ok, need to clear that table now - maybe have another cup of tea aswell! Anyone want one?

When I used Direct Line before, I was able to take out a new policy if the renewal price was higher. I just didn't renew the policy and took out a new one. When I phoned them to query if this was okay, they said it was. This could be an option for you if you want to go with them.

In my experience, the renewal prices can always be haggled down anyway. It annoys me that if they can do it for that price, why not offer it in the first place! They look quite good, and I have been with them before, BUT do I get the cover I need, and is it worth paying a bit extra to get that cover?

Hi all thanks for this thread - been lurking for the last couple of weeks and been very inspired! Moved into my house 3 months ago, it's starting to feel like home and only 2 more boxes to sort!

Just need to find a charity that is willing to collect my late partner's TV, get rid of a undercounter freezer and a bookcase so I don't feel hemmed in by the clutter and will help me to envisage what I can do with the space.

    Thanks again ladies (and gents)

I have 7 watchers on my first ebay listing but no bids yet. Is that good or bad?

I usually find that I get watchers lurking and then they only start bidding when there is less than 24 hours to go. Complete opposite to me, if I want something I place a bid on it - is that just me.

Anyway, well reminded, I need to get some bags from town to post off my eBay items in - one to add to the list!

Goodintentions - what excess do you have to pay on each? Are you likely to use it if it's just toys that are damaged? On the other hand if it's your laptop then obviously that would be worth doing. You'd have it as an expense on your accounts anyway so there might not be that much difference. Having said that, I've never heard of Blufin - are they any good? That probably didn't help at all did it!

    In my HHC I've

Sorted out my Mr T returns
Collected all rubbish up and put it outside ready for the binmen
    Washed all the dishes
    Watered plants

Off for another HHC now - I think I'll hoover downstairs while the kids are out.

    • eBay item has been collected - brilliant, less clutter and money to boot.
    • Nursery fees paid
    • Tart half done. Had to let the pastry chill and the basil infuse into the cream. Just about to complete it now
    • Updated Tesco order
Now just need to sign on (at 1pm) and read. Not bad :)
