Before you cancel remember to delete all titles out of your rental list - this way they cant send you another one and say it had already been posted or some other excuse.
Thanks to everyone who posts comps :T

Haven't read the whole thread, but I just rang up and cancelled and nothing more was said.

However, I have since then received many offers from them including 3 for the price of 1 and currently a 3 month free trial.

I signed up October last year from an offer in 'Stuff' where I was meant to receive a free DVD (Sin City) to keep. I have STILL not received this DVD, and have emailed them numerous times (7), with replies from them just asking 'how can we help you?'.

Send me the DVD you promised, thats how you help!!!

    Really annoying :(

  • I was sent a 3 months free voucher to give to a friend ( code on voucher board)
I cancelled my account and used the code myself - dink dank do
  • Definately an off shore call centre as the guy I spoke to phone could hardly understand me. Didn't offer me any freebies though even though I said we were going over to Amazon.
Giving up is easy...... just keep on trying!
  • when i go on the website how do i register the free trial so that i get the wuidco money?and is it only a 2 week trial?

    Hi

If you wait till after 10pm in the evening then you can cancel your lovefilm subscription using the website.

Remember to send back your last dvd's via recorded delivery, just incase they try to bill you for another month.

Easier way is what I've just done. Clear your rental list, then send back your last discs. That way, when you call, you can tell them to cancel it immediately since you have no discs either at home or on their way to you. It only means waiting a couple of days while they receive the last set, and saves any hassle with "your account will be cancelled once we've received them".

^That's what happened to me. I didn't realise I had to call until I happened to log in again to see if it had processed the cancellation (and thus prevent me from logging in) and instead saw a message saying to phone. Called, seemed to be an Indian call centre (or just an Indian woman with a very very strong accent). I just said I didnt really use the service as much as I'd wanted. She didn't seem bothered with my reason and it cancelled easy peasy.

Guy I just spoke to was definitely Indian, and even the "Thank you for calling Lovefilm" while you're queueing is clearly an Indian voice, so I would suspect they've off-shored it.

As with any foreign call centres, so long as you have a pretty standard question they have a script to follow. My cancellation call just now was fine, I'll just wait to see if they steal money from me...
  • You can telephone the customer services of lovefilm on 08702401637. You can also phone their HQ on 02088968000.

I had to do this because I mistakingly changed my subscription during the trial period. DO NOT DO THIS! They will charge you immediately and not give you a refund. It is in the terms and conditions but not under the section about the free trial so therefore confusing.

If you have troubles, call them and give them a hard time and then find all the forums you can to write about them in!
