Hi
I'm a newbie to the forum, although that's not strictly true as I've been reading the forums for 2 weeks now as I had my major LBM 2 weeks ago yesterday and scared the life out of myself! As soon as I realised how much debt I'm actually in I came on here and started reading the forums, looking for inspiration and I've found them to be brilliant especially the idea of NSDs. I've known for a couple of years that my debt was growing but I've always been able to make the minimum payments (still can) so never really paid much attention to it and whenever I wanted/needed something but didn't have the money I've just put it on a credit card. My most over used phrase has been , "it's ok I'll put it on my card." This has to stop!! Over the next few months I'm hoping to change my username from SpendSpendSpend to SaveSaveSave!
For the last 2 weeks I've been unofficially recording my NSDs and everytime I've wanted to buy something (especially a bar of choc at work) I've thought of this forum and how it would mean I wouldn't get an NSD. So, I'd like to officially join in please, if you'll have me?
Please can you put me down for 6 days? I'm hoping I can beat that, but I thought it was probably better to try & start slowly and build up to more as time goes on.
I've read the rules/guidelines and have decided that to start with I'm going to ignore direct debit/standing order payments but I'm going to count any cash/debit card payments that I make. (Note I didn't say credit card payments! I will count them but I'm going to try my best not to use my credit card.) I'm also going to ignore any spend that relates to MS as I will get that back.
Thanks everyone, I'm really looking forward to the month ahead.Aug NSDs: 18/[STRIKE]6 [/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15[/STRIKE] 18
Sep NSDs: 16/15
Oct NSDs: 16/15
Nov NSDS: /18
I'm a newbie so if I do something wrong or don't do something please let me know so I can learn.0 -
I'd like to join this challenge please. I'm starting my diet this week so this challenge should help me with that because I won't be as tempted to go out and spend money just because I crave Greggs pasties or chocolate.
Can you put me down for 14 NSD please?
I'm counting NSDs as days when I have not physically handed cash or my debit card over to a cashier, put it a machine or entered details online. So any direct debits will not count.0 -
I really enjoyed my first time last month so I am going for 10 NSDs please,Ii'm also going to try for a 3 in a row as I did one before.
cw18 - I know what you mean about the bf, I always spend more when I'm with him!
Spendspendspend- hi there and welcome. You did what I did last month, I pledged 6 and did 9! Also I counted all cash or card payments I made, so anything I physically spent and didn't include directdebit bills. Good luck:)0 -
