I am new to the challenge. We are going away in the middle of August so can I put down for 10 NSDs and see how I get on with that. Hopefully September will be a less expensive month :D

Can I ask a newbie question. My 10 year old takes £2.50 lunch money to school every day and my 2 year old has £2.50 for lunch club at preschool, can I miss those out of the challenge because that would mean every day is a spend day but they are things I have to do iyswim.
Pay off all my debts before Christmas 2015 #165.

It's totally down to the individual as to what they count as a spend to lose them an NSD.

There are a few of us count absolutely everything as a spend, including d/debits for household expenses that can't be avoided (such as council tax, water, gas and electricity), then there are some that only include non-budgeted items (which means household costs and groceries aren't counted as spends). And I know there's at least one person doesn't count milk as they get through so much and can't pre-determine when it'll be needed. And I think I'm right in saying some people don't include spends that are necessary in order to get to work and back, as without those spends they wouldn't have any money coming in ;)

No-one would count it as cheating for you to ignore those spends :)

But another way is to pre-allocate the money on a day that's a spend day for other reasons.

    Hiya :hello:

I'm new to this thread, hope it's ok to join you! :)

I'll be brave and try for 20 NSDs this month!

I won't be counting direct debits, but will count petrol and food shopping.

I'm going to try to get DH to do some NSDs too as he really needs to rein in his spending!

Love all the superhero smileys! :T

I'll also try for 5 NSDs in a row for that challenge. :)

Look forward to starting tomorrow! :D

    Good morning everyone:j

I am going to aim for 17 NSDs for August please (I have managed 16 every month so its time to improve again)

While doing this I also aim to get my cupboards groaning ready for winter and emergencies and keeping a look out for winter boots as soon as they start to come in to the shops (I will need them nicely broken in cos I walk everywhere)

I hope everyone is also getting this lovely weather that we have in sunny Berkshire. It makes you feel so much better I think if you get a few rays of sunshine occasionally

    Anyway I better get on
    Have a good month everyone
