ack he will be fine. Where is he off too? My advice as a seasoned, aka old, 18-30/2wenteys participant is take it easy on the first night, avoid the shots as you enter the bar they are lethal and enjoy yourself safely :)

He's off to Kos next Thursday. I think he'd have a much better time if I tagged along hahaha :rotfl:

I must admit I feel the same when Junior goes out on a Saturday night.

He's gone out tonight and when I told him to text me when he got there (was driving but leaving the car there overnight) I had the roll of the eyes......to which my reply was I'm your mother, that gives me the right to worry about you.

my 17 yr old step daughter got back from Aya napa all in one piece last week . he'll be fine

Surely the most important thing is that they don't come back with an extra piece. Then again if you explain the joys of an abortion clinic then he'll be alright.

Er - the OP has a son?

I would imagine that if he did come back with the extra piece that you are alluding to then he would have a meal ticket for life

I think these types of package holiday etc are a pretty safe way of going aboard without family for the first time - lots of people will speak English, there are people everywhere, coaches to and from the airport, reps, etc. It's actually pretty supervised, really.

When I was 18, I went to live in Poland for a year, teaching English. My parents ruled out Russia, which was my first choice (-:

Although sex has been mentioned, nobody has said the obvious - make sure he takes condoms with him (buy them for him if necessary) and chant "No sex without a condom" at him at regular intervals.:)

    Edit: Great minds, jamespir!

Just relax and let him have a good time.

Maybe suggest he visits a GUM clinic or something for a check when he gets back though :p

I totally understand where you are coming from, my son went to Koz when he left school before going to the army, its a definate right of passage here.....Luckerly they didnt stay in the town but paid a little more for an all in hotel outside of town which I imagine is more 18-30 style. there were 7 of them and they had a great time........he also had a girlfriend at home so was less interested in the sex part:eek:.......

I still worry two years on when he is home and driving at night or even a passenger in a car on a night out.....and thats when he is in the army ,handling guns and other weapons and doing g-d knows what....I guess they will always be our 'babies'

Wish him well and try not to worry.........

I remember my Granny lecturing my mother about driving carefully and giving her a ring when we got home so she knew we were back safely - and my mother was then in her mid 40s (-:
