I've got a quick question - this week I got paid some expenses from work for petrol, parking, tolls etc. But I managed to pay for the original expenditure out of my normal weekly budget so this feels like extra money to me (and has already been used to make an extra payment to Marbles). So can I count it towards the challenge?
Just about to take a look at Amazon - inspired by this thread.
Well done to all. My guess for the first weekly target is £43500 -
meant to press "show me" but accidently pressed "thanks" so got a freebie thanks there flowerofscotland!
ive just started amazon, have yet to sell anything but its early days yet, seems a better option if its something that doesnt sell well on ebay as you can list it for freefinally debt free and want to keep it that way!!0 -

have been taking a look at all the listings from the challenge (132 items now!) had to chuckle to myself when I saw the macdonalds vouchers listed amongst all the slimming world books!!they are my lots . The SW books and McD vouchers go well with the Anne Summers gift voucher I have on there
. I have no idea if the McD vouchers will sell but my Mum gave me a load of them and as my son isn't that keen on McD I thought I would try as I was listing stuff anyway.
I found 50p earlier so that will be added into my total:D
My guess is £3245 so far this week.
Well done everyone on making a great start to the challenge - I am having great fun with it.£2 savers club 2025 #40 -

Maybe if its something you would normally buy, you could sell the 'free' one and include that money?finallydebtfree!! wrote:Thinking of opening a cahoot account through quidco specifically for the challenge, that way I can get £25
I had that same thought after i saw you could get 12.50 on greasypalm for opening a savings account, checked on quidco and it was double that! I thought well this is great, I get a nice savings account to store my challenge money and £25 to start it off! Went to sign up, you have to be over 25 to open one. That sucks, never mind though!
Couple of my tips, I play the little games on https://www.tombola.com, its free to sign up, and i can vouch for them, I won £50 once! Was well pleased! If you fancy signing up i think theres a box for current member email, then if you win, i win a voucher as well i think! PM me if you fancy it
Also, I love car boot sales for stuff to sell on, I find them better than charity shops for bargains, but you do get the bonus of giving to charity! :A That being said, you can pick up some good stuff, but not for big profit, as I think they sometimes check the net for things that might be worth a bit, and rightly so, they should get the max they can!
Anyway, yeah you can get good bargains with an early start (get the good stuff before everyone else) and at the end too, Ive seen loads of people who just want to get rid of their stuff and are willing to really drop the price, and throw extra free bits in. I love haggling with sellers, its great!
My best bargain was a roll of fabric for £5. I put it on ebay for 99p a metre and sold about 8/9 with that, then a lady came and picked up 15 metres for £15 cash in hand, it was only then i unrolled and counted the lot, I had got over 30 metres!! It was funky ikea stuff too, ive still got about 12 metres left to sell on ebay when i get round to it, lol
Cant wait for it to warm up a bit, so I can get back out to those car boots!
Anyone else got any car boot bargain stories?Reclaiming for family and friends. Won 4/13 so farHSBC CC - £263.25, Halifax CC - £179.45, HFC PPI - £589.00, HSBC PPI - £498.86, Lloyds PPI 1 - £4000 -

Iv'e got 5 sets of spare H&B coupons for the nearest guess (should save you a few £ in TESCO). Post your guesses here by 7pm Sunday and the nearest will get them in the post.
Good luck:T :T
I reckon £2250, just to be different.0 -
yay - i sold my juicer on ebay for £150. :rotfl: Minus charges I make £142.21. I did read somewhere about putting MSE into the description so we can track. Can someone point me in the right direction for doing this as I have loads of stuff to put on there. Also are we supposed to be emailing someone our figures each week?
Must update my signature.....x0 -
I reckon we have had a bumper start, and with over 100 challengers, I think the first weekly total will be £6943.76 (give or take a penny or two)!!!!!
Good luck for next week - I keep forgetting to put the MSE code on ebay, so as yet, no one can laugh at my lots!! Will try harder.....:rolleyes:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes.
