  • well to be very honest I don't get many, but I signed my OH up and I suppose cause hes a bloke they don't get many so he is always managed to get through the first lot of questions.

and I have had a few that involved the kids (trying squash, tv habits) these do tend to keep the youngest one happy!

oh well back to ebay having a few problems with one of the customers and paypal who returned their payment the day after I sent the goods and now won't pay for it have reinvoiced her and sent her a nice email but no good so far.

I know what you mean....I'm having to refund £180 soon due to problems with Parcelforce which means I've lost out on £15 + I don't think the item will now resell at the same value, giving what I've seen on Ebay since :(

Ho hum, I need to follow your example and get OH to sign up for a few things!

  • I couldn't do what this person has done, we had an email to say the charger didn't fit and her child was very upset, we replied straight away to try and sort it out but have had no response from them at all but inbetween all this paypal returned payments to 2 customers as my account had been inactive for a while and hers were one of them! the money that we made from the sale of the item was to go to our sons who are saving up for a nintendo ds.

Wilf55.....thanks for that soopah tip re Watchtower stuff.....they come a'bangin' on my door every Sunday at 9.10am so I may just shock them by actually opening the door from now on.

Andistar and Sea78...I run a full-time business on ebay so if I can do anything to help with your claim situations, please PM me. Andistar - paypal wouldn't have returned two payments because your account has been inactive for a while - try logging in to the a/c, go to the dispute console and see the reason given. Also, get out your tracking numbers and input them into the relevant section at the bottom on the details page.....and please tell me you sent your items by a trackable method!

Added another £75 from MB today.....loads more opportunity tomorrow but I'm off to visit friends out of town....this challenge is so addictive I was even considering not going...now that's sad!

    HAPPY 4TH BIRTHDAY MSE.....LONG MAY IT CONTINUE!!
  • Hello all,

I have a little bit of not-so-great news. I'm going to have to either bow out of operating the totals/producing the newsletter, or cut it down to around one issue a month, maybe less.

I would much rather continue to do a weekly issue, but unfortunately I am finding that it is taking up an incredible amount of my time. Way too much, in fact. I spend a total of about one whole day a week collating totals and creating the newsletter, and it is leaving me very little time to work on other things. Even my challenge is suffering - I currently have the lowest published total of all the Gold Olympians.

In addition this, another problem is that I am planning to start the final part of my pilot training in a few months, and will most likely be extremely busy during May, June and July, so definitely will not be able to commit to the challenge then.

I appreciate that the newsletter is a good motivation to some of you, however, the majority of information (certainly in the news section) is merely stuff I have plucked from this very thread.

I'm sure you all understand my reasons. If anybody wishes to take the reigns, I would be glad to pass on my spreadsheets and documents, and will happily continue to host the newsletter on my website.

As several of you have sent me your Week 7 totals, I will do the next newsletter, but will probably then slow right down after that.

Any comments or questions, feel free to add them to the thread or PM me.

No problem WOA, you have a life to lead too you know!!

I would be very pleased to see the newsletter continue on a monthly basis if that is more appropriate - after all, the challenge is for 6 months and by doing 6 issues already, you have given us all the kick start that we needed.

Do whatever you have to do to get your life balance right - we all understand!! I certainly could not devote that amount of time to something like that so appreciate all you have done so far.

    Hi WOA
I think we'll all understand - the newsletter is PACKED full of stuff and I began to wonder how you were managing to do it all! I will look forward to the newsletter once a month.

As the thread is so active, with people posting everyday, it also helps to keep people motivated too.

Good luck with upping your personal target - willing you on :)

    Hi WoA
You've made an incredible contribution in getting this thing off the ground, and to continue at that level is too much for any one person - I think everyone will absolutely understand that you need time to devote to you, including your own personal challenge but also including your own *life*!
