Evening all.
WOA, if you 're dealing with someone who is anything like the guy I had to deal with when I cancelled my contract then i'm not surprised the newsletters on hold!!! I had to complain abou thim cos he was soooooo rude!!! I spent 2 hours trying to explain I didn't want to stay, I had already arranged another contract with a different provider and had already sent written notice of the cancellation which I only wanted him toacknowledge!!! 2 hours!!!
With orange they sent me a nice letter saying sorry I'm leaving if I ever want to go back I know where they are!!!
I've figured out my plans for cost cutting on phones and broadband. Will save me £7 a month permanantly and I get about an extra hundred channels!!! Not a bad deal in all!!! Could do even better and save another £30 a month but I'm tied to my mobile contract til Nov so it will have to wait til then...will add it on to the next challenge instead!!!!
Still no bids on my solitary ebay item... my bros wheels are not doing too badly though..even if the highest bidder is himself!!!
Had a great day so far though out of the challenge..been to my eldests parents evening tonight and he's got above expectations in everything except maths, which he hates, where he's got national average!! Not gonna complain about that, he's top of his class and above the year above in reading so I'm chuffed to bits! Genius must run in the family!! :rotfl:
I just keep looking at his report card and smiling...proud mummy indeed!!
Ooooh and almost forgot WELL DONE CHARDONNAY!!! :j Keep it up!!0 -
FDF - keep reading - it will click! A good way of getting your head round it is to download one of the spreadsheets - I use the FF's matcher-archiver which I find easier to follow than the original spreadsheet. Put say £10 into the spreadsheet as your bet stake. Then go to Betfair and one of the bookies (e.g. Coral) and have a browse at the football matches. You need to look at the odds for betting at the bookie and for laying at betfair (pink there). Try putting some of the odds into the spreadsheet under bet odds and lay odds and see how the other numbers change. You'll get an idea then of what are good matches and how the figures work.
Then when you find one that looks good to you post it on the newbie thread and ask for people to check it. You are not putting any money down at this point - it is a dry run - but you can test to see if you have understood the principles. Or PM them to one of us and we will check them on our spreadsheet.
I don't follow the maths particularly - I just plug the numbers into the spreadsheet and decide if the return is enough for me!0 -
Posted a couple of ebay and amazon parcels and finally got my first pay from mystery shopping! :money:
Also, my Nanna gave me £300 today after I told her about this challenge and my efforts so far. I can't decide whether I shuld count this in my challenge or not - anyone have any thoughts?GOD BLESS DURAN DURAN

22.96 added to my total from ebay sales today:j (plus whatever extra pence from the extra postage which I'll add l8r;) )
I also took a look at my Money For Nothing Challenge Spreadsheet and thought I wd sumarise it incase it helps anyone with this one (bearing in mind we could only use money that we had made from nothing).
The methods I used were:
1. buying from charity shops, selling on ebay (total loss = 13.46)
2. buying using sites like fatfingers and selling on ebay (total profits = 42.46)
3. Matched Betting (total profit = 450.59)
I did however lose 260 odd on a wrongly placed matched bet  so this really might not be for everyone.JUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0 -
