Yes, I finally did it.....Fanfare in the hypno household.....

I have done my first matched bet and what is more - I got it right!!!!!

After several weeks of dithering, reading the matched betting threads, being prompted by mizmir to have a go, and feeling jealous of those getting all that lovely free cash, I decided that today was the day.

So, with the aid of a very large bar of dark chocolate and lots of coffee, once the children were off to school, and it was just me and the laptop I made a start.

Several hours, another couple of reads of the matched betting threads, and some familiarising myself with the spreadsheet and the bookies websites and I was off.....

Placed my bets and then had this awful sick feeling in my tummy - had I done it right, was I going to end up with egg on my face, etc etc.

But as the afternoon progressed, I realised that I had indeed got it right and I now have £48.05 to add to my challenge total, plus £25 tracked in quidco!!

So, all geared up for the next one, I think I am going to enjoy this game...

Sent my massive selling saab thingy off via parcelforce, checked I'd wrapped it ok (I asked the woman in the post office when I handed it over) and they've gone and split the packaging, and scuffed the faux leather bag the wind deflector was in. Obviously buyer not accepted so the parcelforce said it was not wrapped correctly, which would invalidate claim. Oh grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Feel really upset. Am off to PO now. Have contacted seller back saying will give refund on return if no compensation from Parcelforce, but am not happy about it all. Also, with various problems and a massive nursery bill (budgeted correctly for it, but forgot that I should have saved £150 from jan when we weren't budgeting!)just arriving today, I was actually going to have to dip into that money to pay bills.

Feel like it never rains but......

Don't rush it, you will get there - the free bets will still be available so it is not as though it is time sensitive.

Keep reading, make notes, ask questions on the newbie thread over there and you will know when you are ready to take the plunge.

Just placed my next set of bets.....

    Hello Sea,

I know how you feel about massive nursery fees, my son will be 3 in May and I am supposed to be getting extra help from the Government apparently - £7 extra a day towards the fees. How old is/are yours?

Hope you can sort something out with Parcelforce, I wouldn't let it lie, customer's always right an' all that.

    Caz
