i'll start up a new thread tomorrow (someone remind me please). there'll be no targets but may be a good way to motivate each other and also to give "tips" (if you can call them that)A Monkey is for life, not just for Xmas!
In a bad mood? Do a Google Image Search for baby penguins0 -
Hallam_Macca wrote:Yeah I'm up for the challenge. Not gonna set any targets for myself except to raise as much money as I possibly can.
I wanted to check how much I'd have to raise each week to hit each target, they are as follows:
Bronze £38.73
Silver £77.19
Gold £115.38
Gold looks pretty daunting doesn't it?!
Eeek! Yes it does and I said I'd go for gold! Better start thinking of ideas....0 -
Looks daunting but what I was doing on the last challenge is 5 matched bets 2ce a week and I was surprised by how much my total increased (enough for gold if you get 5 good ones)JUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0

I'm going for Bronze please, £1007 is about my limit at the moment.Going to investigate the Lloyds thing, eBay, and put some stuff up on Amazon.....etc. Does anyone know if I can get anything for my OH? He's just sitting there doing nothing!
As you are unlikely to be able to sell him on Ebay or Amazone would he join Pigsback? New "Piggies" can garner quite a few points for minimal effort and these can be exchanged for vouchers. If you use these for presents instead of budgeted cash then I think this would count towards the challenge (I'm going to do this unless told otherwise)
There is a great Pigsback thread on the Freebies board

I'd like to go for Silver!
I was addicted to the 2 previous threads on this subject but was unable to commit to joining then.0 -
Hi Annie and all,
Put me down for Gold. I may not make it (I worked out that it equates to about £16 a day EVERY day for the 6 months!), but I dont want to get to bronze and then feel I can sit back and chill out! Would be interesting to see just how much, to the nearest penny, we need to make each day. Could have a running tally so we can see whether we are behind, on, or ahead of target. I'll set something up on a spreadsheet.
I appreciate the fact that overtime at current job can count. Its a lot easier than getting a seperate second job, and I shall make a note of the hours I do so I can separate the money when the paycheck comes in, and stick it in my 'Olympic Account'!
I have one or two ideas for helping with the challenge. Will jot them down in the next few days and add them here so they can be stuck on the starting post (ba-doom-tish!).

Hi Hazeleyes... He's a computerphobe so there's NO chance. I'm with Pigsback, got over a 1000 points so far, saving up for vouchers!
Someone else said I could Freecycle him, but I'd prefer to get some money for him, to put towards this challenge!!!DFW Nerd no 239.....Last Personal Debt paid off Nov 2012!
Donated 50 pints so far.... gold badge got 17/11/13! Blood Group O+

Hi there
This is the first challenge I'm joining in, have been mostly lurking - I'd like to go for bronze please (got very encouraged reading all the posts, decided to go for silver, and then saw how much per week it would be. I think £39 a week is plenty for me to be going on with.
The extra things I can do in the next week or so:
- open a cashback credit card.
- check out the Lloyds tsb thing.
- I'm a member of Rpoints, Lightspeed, Mutualpoints and Yougov, so I'll look at the others and do the searches and free/very cheap things systematically.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
