Kes123 AKA Jvalj321, Who admits to;
"Splitting up with her partner they have two children. She then goes into rented accommodation and starts claiming council tax benefit, housing benefit, and also income support. Obviously not declaring all the properties that she owns"
Odd, is the op thinking of grassing herself up? .0 -
This person is no longer a friend trust me. As for why i haven't reported her before. cant really answer that one with ease. all I can say is when you are close to someone its not that easy. Its only i suppose when they stab you in the back, you actually see them for what they are.
My intention now is to report them. they will have no problem in the proof. I have myself now been on land registry and found loads of proof myself.0 -
None of this makes any sense at all.
Seeing them for what they really are? You knew they were doing something illegal - you didn't suddenly realize that they were committing fraud when they owed you money. It seems as though they would have had enough money to live on anyway, so you couldn't have felt guilty about it (not that you should about reporting crime) You're only reporting her with malice of fore-thought, out of spite.
It's not my place to judge, but I hope that in the future if you know of anyone committing fraud you will have the sense to report it.Saving for the future

kes, you also posted on the dro board that this 'friend' has a dro in place...how can this be so..im sure the OR would know iff she had all these houses..Hi all, not sure if this is the right forum. I did yesterday start a thread on Debt relief orders.
Basically i am owed 15000 by someone i thought was a very close friend. They are refusing to pay me back and so I am thinking in my head. Ok if you want to be like that I will come down to there level.
report them for benefit fraud.
What would happen to someone who owned 1 house outright, owned 2 more houses and a piece of land with a small mortgage. But they were renting them out.
So she splits up with her partner they have two children. She then goes into rented accomodation and starts claiming council tax benefit, housing benefit, and also income support. Obviously not declaring all the properties that she owns. She has now been doing that for approx 9 years. eventually one house got repossessed but i think she got around 20k when that happened. this money was not delared. Sometime in 2008 another property and the land were repossessed and there was about 70k left over. She decided instead of splitting the 70k, and it was done through solicitors. He would keep the 70k and the other house that was left would be transferred over to her name outright.
Although all the paperwork was carried out she never got round to getting the deeds altered so 3 years later the house is still in joint names. She borrowed the money off me to re-fit the house and sell it. this was 2 years ago, but she has never yet tried to sell it, so it just sits there. she also owes approx 16k to banks and credit cards.
If I do report her what would be the outcome. Her children are now 16 and 25. She claims council tax benefit even though her eldest daughter still lives at home and is working and paying board.
I really hate to stoop so low as to report someone, but feel at this moment why should she not pay me and get away with all this.

I have a couple of 'friends' that do the odd few jobs for me. They can be quite persuasive for a small fee!!0

Err not really.
Take a bankrupt that tells the OR that a £20,000 loan that was taken out by her the year before to give to dad,(as he had bad credit) was used by her to fund a lifestyle. It was wiped clean and dad kept the £20,000!!!
The fact that she worked freelance and that the company she worked for did not pay her any income until she was discharged after 12 months. She received a nice lump sum (in excess of £40,000)the following month (a whole years earnings). Went on a cruise and bought a lovely new little car for cash.
The fact that she also worked in a shop owned by her mum, which she told the OR that it was her only source of income!(NMW for 10 hours a week). This meant she could show she was supporting herself, just by living at home but not enough to contribute to her debts on an IPA.
The OR can have the wool pulled over their eyes quite easilly - it all depends on how you set yourself up to go bankrupt.0 -
Hi i have since contacted the DRO unit who say that they have not filled for a dro, just found out today.
but equally i have also now contacted the solicitor she said was acting on her behalf for other money she owes.
seems like she has lied again
there is only one action to report her for benefits theft.0 -

This is getting silly now. There is no way these people would discuss someone else's personal financial situation with you. Have you not heard of the data protection act?
Give over - you're rumbled!DF
