Hi guys, I have a question regarding wifi connection on the HTC Desire S. Is there any reason why a phone would indicate that it is connected to the router (after I have keyed in the security password & checked to make sure the signal is good) BUT not connect to the internet? I have turned the wireless setting on. It's driving me mad!
WAP works absolutely fine...
Can anyone help?

Pretty often routers loose connection with the internet. Are there any other devices connected to the router that are able to connect to the internet?0

Mac address should be on phone
Menu --> Settings --> About Phone --> Phone identity
Somewhere like that.
And then you need admin access to the router http://192.168.1.1 and check the mac address is in the list of devices that can access the router. If not add it.0 -

Mac address I have found... do you mean access 192.168.1.1 from my laptop?
My phone's IP address is 192.168.1.64; and the static IP box is ticked...
My IP address according to those 'what's your IP address' sites is different for my laptop it seems.0 -

Who set up the router?
Try 192.168.0.1
You are most likely going to need a user/password for the router.
and in command prompt, type "ipconfig", what is the default gateway?0 -
Sorry ipconfig flashes up on the screen and disappears very quickly so I can't find out... I'm not sure why it does that.0
