    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi 1step :hello:

Just read through your diary, and wanted to say how fantastic the £11K in under a year is! Congrats on the quitting smoking (I need to do that too) and don't worry about falling off the wagon when your dad was in hospital - stress is very anti-DFW!
Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

PROUD TO [STRIKE]BE DEALING [/STRIKE] HAVE DEALT WITH MY DEBT ;)
  • Thanks!

I am just in the middle of reading about the mortgage pig on the mortgage free board. What a fab idea! But in true DFW style :rotfl: Branston jar will have to suffice.

When I get all my APRs and can work out which to pay off first, I might put Branston to use in that way. Or put him to use for Christmas. Choices choices.............

  • Well it's 10.20 pm and hubby is snoring away in the bedroom.........and he really snores!

Feel free to shout at me if you see me tomorrow - I have a ton of housework to do, some letters to print out and post (if I can get the printer working), milk to buy and probably something else will come up!

I only plan on buying milk tomorrow but Sat I have to get £75 electric and £5 post office stamp (for the car tax). I will also get out £30 which will have to last me until the following saturday......................hmmm........I can do it!

  • Had to update diary - need to put all spending down. I had 5 £1 coins in my purse, spent £1.40 on milk, painkillers and loveheart sweeties as a treat for when I have finished the housework and put 60p in Branston. So I have £3 left.

Withdrawing £30 tomorrow for groceries and stuff throughout the week.

BTW I have decided that Branston jar is for silver and £2 coins and whatever change if any that I have after the £30 a week. I will put it all towards the HFC DVD thing.

Horlicks jar is coppers for Xmas!

    Right on with the house.............

  • Good morning! I have been a busy bee so far today. Been to the post office and got £75 electric and £5 car tax stamp. These were budgeted for. Oh and bought 5 2nd class stamps. So my letters are posted.

Withdrew £30 and spent £20 in Asda (£17.45 groceries £2.55 Xmas club) and £6.99 in B&Q. This was for potting compost and 2 new pots as my plant pots are cracking - the plants in them need bigger pots. I fed Branston £0.80 and have £4 left. (Already had £3 in purse.)

Really hoping not to spend the £4!! Next withdrawal day is next sat so fingers crossed. Might do what others have suggested and leave my purse at home....

I have posted the letters to:
HFC dvd player asking for a statement, credit slips to over pay and what the apr is.
    Mint - remove PPI
Monument - reduce limit from £6200 to £2000
    Amex - close
    Goldfish - close

    Productive day for me!! :T

  • Last day of my holiday waahhhh!!!!!!!!!! Notr feeling so great either. Mucked up some of my medication yesterday and feel swimmy headed and flue like today but will get better soon I expect.

No spending for me yesterday or today!!! woohoo! Hubby spent as we went for a meal with friends yesterday lunchtime and it was lovely too. We haven't done that for soooooooooo long...........

I have also decided to get rid of Sky and get a digibox IF it is applicable in my post code area as some aren't. and i need to make sure the ariel in the attic works too. Well hubby can, last time I went up there, there was a huge spider web and although I'm not too bothered by spiders, the size of the web meant the size of the spider was huge.....................perhaps I should charging it rent!

    Have a good day all.

  • Wednesdays suck. Morning started badly - the chicken I got out for the slow cooker hadn't defrosted properly, the dishwasher is playing up, I've lost a shoe, got talcum powder everywhere, spilt sugar all over my desk (don't ask) and then got tippex all over me. Sigh!

    Anyway, spending:

    Sunday - £0
    Monday - £0
    Tuesday - £0

Today - £1 bonus ball (it's a rollover, fingers crossed), £1.61 for the Euromillions (we had some come back and I was off last week so they put in for me), £1 for a collection and 85p for some aspirin. I had to raid Branston for 61p so I'll not put money in him until the end of week instead of going along I think. Got 24p left til Sat................I;m getting a bit obsessed now!

Tomorrow I will probably do chicken kiev and mash for tea (the potatoes need using up) and Friday, pasta. I was going to try and last until Sunday before shopping but I don't think that will happen..........I will try though.......

  • Afternoon all!

Spent a while today drafting a letter to our mortgage company as I am very concerned that it is interest only so have asked a shed load of questions. Feel better about that now!

Spent £10.50 via quidco on travel sickness stuff for youngest dog. We are going away for the first time in our caravan at the end of the month, only for a weekend but he gets terribly sick, bless him. Just have to turn the ignition in the car and we have projectile vomitting, not nice at all.

Not heard from HFC yet, so I will give them until the end of next week and then try and phone.

    Have a good day all!

  • Just spent a small fortune in Asda, I could kick myself. A lot of it was cleaning stuff so I will have to make it stretch. Dishwasher was complaining about the dishwash tablets and just spat them in the bottom into a soggy pile, so to be on the safe side, I have bought dish wash cleaner, salt and fairy (£3 for 15 washes, on offer). And I bought asda own plug in air freshner and washing liquid............everything runs out in 1 go. Sigh. at least my house won't smell now!!!!!

I budgeted for £120 shopping this month but think i will be going over that. NUTS.
